View Full Version : sectarianism
i know this should prob be in off topic, but it really only applies to northern ireland ones.today a boy from ballymena, michael mcilveen,15 and catholic died after spending two days on a life support machine.he was beaten to death by a group of thirteen,a few of which were armed with baseball bats.michael was a good friend of my best mates wee brother, who was with him when it happened,"luckily" for him they decided just to let him watch his friend be beaten to death rather than involve him aswell. Those involved in the attack were mostly over twenty, grown men, attacking one 15 year old,INNOCENT boy.The boy had done nothing wrong but try to avoid a fight that was already going on between catholics and protestants.I'm Just askin all of you,as far as possible to do what you can to cut attacks like this out,on both catholics and protestants, because this country truely is going to hell.this is me making an attempt at a bit of peace

totally agree, people capable of this from both sides need to wise up and just let everybody get on.
its absolutely shocking, really sorry for the loss of Michael. Sadly the world is a very very nasty place and things like this do happen - But I do believe in Karma. TBH the people who involve therselves in fights over religion/origin of ireland is pathetic, lets hope they just kill each other from now on and not innocent people.
What a horrible situation. its just one of those situations where u think do u get involved and risk both lifes and get no justice? or do u just save ur own life and live with seeing your friend die?
Your friends little bro must be horrified and in a lot of trauma and stress, I wish him all the best and luck I have.
there was a thing in the daily mirror today with a picture of a couple of kids, (boyfriend and girlfriend) one in a rangers shirt and the other in a celtic shirt, writing a message in memory of michael as he was a friend of thiers. if there were more people like this in northern ireland it would be a far nicer place to live. i'm in a mixed religion relationship and have been for the last 5 and a half years, and in that time some so called friends began to show their true colours, but **** them. if they want to live in the past with their narrow little minds and bigoted opinions thats up to them i aint wasting any time on them.
i hope the people who carried out this attack get what they deserve, whether that's jail or whatever else comes their way
