ermm.. well with that size budget im affraid the only things you will be buying are the stuff we tell you to avoid

my front comps will have cost more than your total ICE budget :?

IMO - dont spend little then upgrade over the years, but instead buy good makes now- and then slowly add to your system. works out cheaper in the long run. PLUS better makes will last longer too

good "makes" no order:

DLS, Diamond, Focal, JL, Rainbow, Crystal, RE.

then sell the 6x9s and buy a decent alpine, pioneer, jvc headunit

ok thanks for your help everyone.

martin, how much have u spent then? sounds like u spent a lot of money on ur sounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if i save long enough i could probably stretch to 700 but it will take ages cuz i can only save £50 a week max

Martin
10-05-2006, 13:14
ive spent enough

but most people buy an amp, then get rid and buy a slightly better one, then get rid and buy a slighly better one.... i just brought the exact one i wanted, then waited months beforei brought the next bit... it meant i had bits laying around for months not doing anything  but worked out cheaper in the end :)

i cant look now cause im at work so i cant realy recomend models etc...

do you want SPL or SQ?

I have Alpine, not everyone wants a full blown compeittion install.

Just wantsome bass etc, 600 quid is sufficient

250 Head Unit
100 Comps
70 Amp For Comps
180 Sub / Amp

i just bought some dls b5 comps and they are damn good for the money, get b6's im thinking they will be better, i was going to go for b6's but i was scared about the depth thing, but apprently its fine because the adapters sort all that out! :)

EVB

SQ - Sound Quality
SPL - Sound Pressure Level

yeah, i explained wrong...

what i meant was he is asking "what are the best makes" but with only £600 you wont be able to afford the "best" makes.

but i agree, with £600 you can still have a QUALITY system if the right money is spent in the right places. Eg, not on power caps etc etc.

im just looking for a nice mixture. want it sounding pretty good but with a nice heavy bass as well. im into my speed garage and stuff which has a lot of deep basslines.

Ill deffinatley have to get a 12" sub though, cuz 10" wont pick up the bass as good as a 12" sub.

ive got a 10" sub in my bedroom and sometimes it struggles to pick up the basslines.

ive had a look at what im thinking of getting.....

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/4244.html

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/4138.html

avent got a clue what amp to get though

jimmi

cant go wrong wit JL!

Martin
10-05-2006, 16:20
well, if u get a good quality sub, it'll cover most areas. my 12 hits like a 10 and drops like a 15 :)

the box the sub is in makes the biggest difference.

Sounds like ur in the same predicament as me
Ive spent about £700 give or take
£350 on Head unit - Alpine CDA 9853R
£100 on front components - Infinity Reference 5010CS
£75 on Subwoofer - Focal Access 10"
£10 on box for sub
£50 on amp for sub - although i managed to get it for free off a mate!
£80 Fli 200Wrms 2 Channel amp for front components
£100 on wiring, adaptors, tools and all the other crap u need

vincefenlon
10-06-2006, 14:56
go to a market, behave lol. go to a reputable shop or online store. if you want good audio you listen to it first like down prestige down south, they are the place to listen to dls, diamond, alto audio. if you can i would recommend listening to the audio first.
