well as my luck isnt going my way at the mo just to top it of i have blown all my subs over a period of 1 week :(..... so the thing is now i have to go and by 3 more 12" subs and i was wondering if anyone had a good idea what to buy and how much they are... am on a bit of a budget so gotta be cheap yet good....i no im asking alot but there u go.
the amps are... 2 amps are 400 rms and 1 amp is 700rms so the subs have to be able to go ok on the above without going pop... if u could help that would be great :)

not sure if its the subs or amps or just the wiring buggerd so its bookd in to get lookd at on friday
go for 2 RF T1s
red demon

what r they when they are at home?.
well with mine the audiobahn has torn away from the cone, wrks but at about 10%.
the maystar the wires have melted off the cone on them both.cant c why cuz the amps are only 3 quarters of the way up and they are made for that sub:(

i have heard bad things about audiobahn in the past more for show with all their chrome etc not too good for build quality. Depends of your budget but i would look into JL, RE or Massive audio subs most of all the REs as they can take a hell of a beating before they blow

10-05-2006, 20:19
you are best off buying better brands and paying a bit more for it as cheap crap ones will break if you drive them hard RE = resonant engineering i think they are expensive as well but they are very good indeed
deano_sxi
10-05-2006, 20:19
lightning audio is decent stuff
red demon
10-05-2006, 20:27

this sucks big time cant belive i gotta spend a **** load of money on some more subs. will have to look at discount places or up my budget to £100 a sub or something :(
u can fix subs easy. they dnt actually blow, there is a small filiment that can be replace for abot 50p but its trying to find some1 that wont rip u off to fix it
cant believe you have two subs @400wrms and one sub @700wrms... surely that sounds... a bit weird at higher levels..?
before a model can be recomended - the ratings you have given are at what value? 1/2/4/8ohm?

what?
If the voice coil melts its a lot more than 50p mate

i've always run rockford fosgate speakers and subs, and absolutely love them and have never had a problem, but two years ago i decided to go a little louder with the speakers and opted for all audiobahn componets front and rear 200 wrms and a 12 Qalum sub twin 2 ohm voice coils i bridged these to run at 1 ohm and powered it with a vibe vp4 mono block amp which was rated at 1200 wrms @1 ohm, the sub didn't last a year the sub was supposed to be rated at 2000 wrms. so the moral of the story is don't buy auduiobahn?
red demon
13-05-2006, 20:58
they 700w rms audiobahn i did have lasted less than a year .the amp was a 700wrms amp but was nt up much over half.. i relly want rockford but there sooo expensive. can get the T2s for about £120 if i order in from america.
would would by subs of e-bay but have been told not to cuz most of it is re-con stuff.. right cheesed off, have no idea what to get now :(
was thinking of getting american subs like vertonic,or alphasonic or something along them lines. after what everyone is saying about audiobahn im thinking not to go that way

about £180 for em both they come with a variety of boxes...2 singles n 2 doubles all carpeted but one of the doubles don't fit in the boot of a corsa
red demon
13-05-2006, 21:28
i wouldnt need the boxs so would that make them cheeper :).... is the hole size 12" square just wondering how hard it would be to change the circle into a square. the thing is the 3 12s are like this at the mo and the box cant be moved so would have to cut in place http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/8826/picture7011yo.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
the outer size of the subs are 12 9/16 so the hole bould be about 11 n half inches mate but i can give you the actuall measurement if you want 2mo when i'm at home! nah doesn't affect the price mate with out the boxes jus wanted 2 get rid of em lol one of the subs is slightly damaged. do a search for em on here cause i've put em up for sale in items for sale.
