i would say no it only has a 3 inch screen so you would need another monitor to watch a DVD it only has 2 preouts so you cant run front, rear and sub amps and its made by JVC who i dont like for headunits for the price its alpine all the way.
Its supposed to be slow and really annoying to use

see, thats what i dont understand, all the pre out stuff, basically im gonna be running front comps off an amp, and gonna be having sub and amp in the boot, is that 2 inputs or so called pre outs ? :s

the pre-outs are unamplified signals thay go from the headunit to the inputs of the external amplifiers.
If you are just running front comps and a sub then 2 preouts will be fine just be careful as they might be front and rear full frequency range ones so you will need to cut out the high frequencies to stop them going to the sub.
right, slowly starting to understand all this audio stuff lol !! so running two amps, sub and front comps would be fine..... possible some rear fill in the future though ?

rear fill - not amplified ones but you could run them off the headunit, i would say dont get that JVC one and invest the 200 quid on a decent alpine deck that has 3 pre-outs then you can amp the lot.

on my 4 channel amp it needs 4 channls worth of input to give out 4 channels of output, not sure of you can put in 2 inputs and get 4 outputs tbh but perhaps on some. If that makes any sense??
makes sense yea, dont know on mine if it does that either lol ! i think on my last hu, i only had 1 pre out and was running standard front speakers off the hu, then had a sub and amp and 6x9s in rear
I wouldnt worry about 3 having preouts as they can be split easily anyway.
However having an dedicated sub only preout is good as it allows better control over the sub volume from the headunit.
