Hey!
I have just brought a 12" Vibe Fli Trap Subwoofer without any wiring kit. Can anyone tell me what kit i need to buy. Its 1000 watt. Also would i need an amp??
If anyone has any instructions they want to send me or step by step i would be grateful.
thanks gemma

Yeah i might do that. Get them to hide all the wires!!
Do you have 6x9 speakers ?? i only have a standard headunit does that matter?

yep i put 6x9's and a stealth shelf in a couple of days ago, makes it a lot louder. not sure if the Fli can be wired to a standard headunit or not, i have a Pioneer aftermarket one

what 6x9 have you got mate
dont waste ur money on 6x9s, upgrade the front components instead, sounds much much better
yeh u can put a sub on ur standard stereo just live it from rear light in boot n earth it n then connect wires to speaker in rear but thats bodgin it id go for a wiring kit 15min job to fit

Live it from the rear light in the boot? r u crazy? u cant pull that kinda power through the light circuit!
U need to use minimum 8AWG, but preferable 4AWG cable directly from the battery. Then earth it to a bolt in the boot thats attached to the chassis.
Also u need to fit a switch in the remote line to turn the amp on and off or it will drain ur battery.
like i said thats bodgin it lol but u can run a wiring kit off the standard stereo cus no phonos
bodging it? ull be lucky if u dont cause a fire!
No, u can still use a wiring kit, but instead of the phonos u use a high level input off the rear speaker feed.
Ground, remote, and live are still the same.
I think you might be able to run the remote off the ignition (red iso) lead, and splice in, but i could do with sum1 confirming that for me
u can wire the live to the remote as long as like u say u have the live on a switch or the battery will b drained
the live needs to be wired direct to the battery with a minimum 8AWG cable. This is the only way it should be done and any other way can result in a serious electrical hazard or, in the worst case, a fire.
