Right i have searched the forums but couldnt find information on this, i have brought a Alpine 9812rb head unit and also a wiring loom to fit my 05-reg vauxhall corsa, i have connected the wiring loom to my head unit wiring loom and there are still loose wires the speakers wires go together fine but the alpines other black plug only has two wires going to it with two prongs in the plug which are Power antenna and the loose double ended red wire with bullet connectors, i wanted to know what i have to do? Do i need to scotch block these onto the wires? I have listed below wires:
Alpine Head unit Wiring Loom:
Speaker wire connector block....
Pink/Black - Audio Interupt
Blue (This goes into a black plug) - Power Antenna
Red (Male bullet connector) - Ignition
Blue/White (Female bullet connector) - Remote - Turn on
Orange (Male buller connector) - Dimmer
Yellow - Connected to a Grey Box with 20amp (This goes to fuse box or battery, but i have been told i dont need to got to battery or fusebox and can just use the exisiting wires by users on this forum) This has a Male buller connector.
Black (Connector cut off) - Ground
On the block that the Blue wire goes to Theres a red lead with two female bullet connectors on it.Vauxhall Wiring Adaptor Loom
Speaker Wires....
Black - Ground
Red - 12 volt ignition
Red/White - Amp Ground
Blue - Power antenna
Orange/black - Dimmer
Orange - Dash light illumination
Yellow - battery constant
Yellow/Red - No writing On
a picture speaks a thousand words mate
ive wired up my alpine unit to my C...im sure they would use the same adaptor...some of the wires will be free...as they are for other uses...!
just make sure all the connector blocks go together and that you connect the two yellow wires on the adaptor together

So i dont need to worry about the yellow wire? How do i connect the ground, do i need to buy a clip to go into the black block?
you could put it into the ISO block ....so it connects with the black wire there
or you could get a spade terminal and make your own earth somewhere else inside the car..
you may also have to connect the yellow wire into the block.....but sometimes not....
i normally try different things until it works...
sorry ive only done one alpine head unit...that was mine...and i didnt have that big converter block onmy yellow cable..so im not really sure

Has anybody else got this head unit to tell me how to wire it please? A diagram in paint would be wicked if someone could do it!
Cheers.

anyone???
Yellow and red need to be swapped using the bullet connectors, other than that the rest are left dangling, or if u running amps, the blue is the remote cable

So i need to plug the yellow wire into the bullet connector? And then where does the red bullet connector plug into?
yellow into red bullet connector and red into yellow...
YOU LIAR
i wasnt going to help you, but i will.
you never searched ANYWHERE!!!
the VERY FIRST LINK on the ICE page has your answer
Running a headunit with a seperate power supply?
(in this case the Alpine 9812RB) wire both the red and yellow wires to battery (permanent 12v supply) so that the headunit can be used with the engine off and uses the internal MOFSET amplifiers.
some people.......................

Alrite Martin,
Yeah i have read that but other people have told me on this forum that i dont need to wire the head unit to the battery and that it is possible to wiring into the standard loom? I wanted to know how to do the wiring for this loom.
Cheers

Feederfan,
Does your head unit have a yellow wire which goes to a 20amp fuse box?? if so can you confirm you wired it to the wiring loom?? and how?

your red alpine need to go to the red vauxhall ignition, and your yellow power for the alpine directly to your battery, with an inline fuse near the battery.
the black earth on the alpine harness needs earthed behind the dash somewhere onto the body.
