View Full Version : Lighting neons to interior light
Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has wired their neons to the interior light yet?? i was thinking of wiring 4 neons - 2 under the dash and 2 under the seats in my corsa. I wanted the neons to come on when i unlocked my car using the key fob at night!!! and also when the interior light is ment to come on when i get out of my car - i think this would look awesome but was wondering if anyone knew if it was do-able???
thanks for the help people

can the interior light actually run neons (that use invertors) or will the dimming bit go ape s**t?

yeah it can run em fine, the inverter steps the voltage up to 240V on neons, but the current is so little, they take hardly no power at all
yeah i've done this with my interior neons. I wired it to the actuall light and ran wires through the roof lining then down one of those front pillers. then to the inverters behind the gear stick housing bit. pretty simple
yeah. piss easy mate. as clayton said. just run the two wires (+ and -) to the interior light. it will just pop down from the roof lining.

sounds like my next mod :D
i wanted neons in front and back but when trying to wire 4 up 1 always blew i dont know why. so ive just got them in the front footwells
probably just over powering the interier light loop, i had the same problem with my boot neons when i left the bulb in the boot light aswell as having the neons wired into to. blow about 3 fuses, but when i took the bulb out it was fine
