yeah should be that one you pointed at, or the fascia adapter from autoleads can be got in silver that is a really good match!

When you get your new wires it will be a little confusing, there will be two bare wires. Need to run one of them to the cigarette lighter for an ignition live. The other to the MFD for the illumination,

IF you need any help can just pm me

why run it to the MFD there a perfectly good illumination at the cigarette lighter?

^ My cigarette lighter aint a ciggarette lighter, its just a 12v power supply with a cover over the top. So no illumination!! Its easy to go to the mfd, few screws to undo and then use a voltmeter to work out which is the right wire, solder it on and jobs done!

Ok try this link. 3rd post down that i made there are two links. One for the fascia adapter which you say you have. And one for the wiring harness. the part number for for if you wanna go into halfrauds is PC2854, made by autoleads.

Once you have that if you need any more help just ask mate.

Phil.

Halfrauds say they dont sell that product and it is only avalible from vauxhall direct, went to vauxhall and they have no idea, so hes calling some people for me.....

I live in salisbury so not that far from you

slugger

just order it from the link mate, vauxhall wont recognise it as its an autoleads part. I ordered it online and came through in a couple of days!

You should come down to portsmouth on the sat 22nd. Few of us are meeting up for a bit!

My one aint a lighter either but all the wiring was down there. plus the way the wiring was you just did it in a piggy back style with one clip going into the other then back into the original.

RickSRi
12-07-2006, 20:48

ok do you have a connector block coming off your new harness?

It should have a brown and black wire with another connector block on it.
this plugs into the back of the ciggy lighter.
next you should have a yellow and grey wire coming off the new harness this is the illumination wire. it goes onto the grey and black wire which is taped up to the rest of the block. solder these two together.

bish bash bosh that it. the pic is just uploading will edit in a while.

my harness has
the quad block connect to a double iso block thing
then another harness which is the same as the 2000 corsa which connects to the HU.

im gonna have another look

12-07-2006, 21:36
that would be great, you could use web messenger
http://webmessenger.msn.com/
up to you

no i dont have seperate block with black and brown, i have a black and blue - black is ground and blue is power antenna

cdti_sri
12-07-2006, 21:39
ok you should have this as the car loom
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c160/cdti_sri/IMG_0004.jpg

plug this off your new harness into it
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c160/cdti_sri/IMG_0005.jpg

then plug this end into your HU
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c160/cdti_sri/IMG_0007-1.jpg

now run the other part of your harness down to your ciggy lighter.
Plug the white plug into back of lighter and then plug the original wires into new part of harness.
attach other wire as mentioned above.

RickSRi
12-07-2006, 21:44
okay im guessing by that, the shop gave me the wrong part, mine goes like that only the end of the new wire ends in a block that is like the old corsa, then i have another adapter which changes that into what yours looks like, but there are no other wires to run down to the ciggy, no white wire. the white wire goes straight to the HU

cdti_sri
12-07-2006, 21:47
if you cant get a pic of the new harness you have mate either post it ere or email it to me and ill tell you if its right or wrong

cdti_sri what year is your corsa? Does it have a cigarrete lighter or just a 12v feed? with cover?

cdti_sri
12-07-2006, 23:21
its dec 2004 it just has 12v socket with cover no cig lighter. the wire for the illumination was taped onto the loom. In this pic it was just taped to where it is now i even used the tape to cover the solder
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c160/cdti_sri/IMG_0002-1.jpg

slugger

is it the yellow wire for the illumination, picture aint to clear? or i am just being thick?!

i think i may not have pulled my cig lighter wiring out far enough to discover this. Never mind the illumination i used from the mfd worked a treatt, and had to have that out for the speed pulse on my sat nav.

cdti_sri
12-07-2006, 23:44
yellow n grey is the wire coming from my new loom. black and grey is the illumination that was taped up. there was a spade connector on it i just cut off.

13-07-2006, 09:20

been reading back through it. Your wiring harness came with that adapter that has the two white ends? Did you get it all from vauxhall?
