View Full Version : Next Portsmouth / bournemouth meet?
Ok quite a bit of interest in when the next meet would be!
So post up where and when you guys wanna have the next one.
Hayling Island was suggested which would be quite a good place for photo's maybe?
Dates if we try for a week day so a tues or thurs? So maybe look at either the 8th or 10th or the following week which would be the 15th and 17th.
Could always try to tie it in with the other SC meet. If both started at say 7pm, could spend an hour local, then for those that want to try and covoy north as they convoy south and meet somewhere central? (hope that made sense!)
My other suggestion would be somewhere on the way to bournmouth/ poole, like ringwood. (Its in the new forest). Then can get people from that sorta area coming aswell.
open to other suggestions...........

i think somewhere towards the new forest would be cool there are a fair few members in like bournemouth and that who could join in too.

Ok, extending on Sluggers original idea to have a few local meets and then meet somewhere centrally for a regional meet, take a look at the map I have prepared :P :

The little Red dots are individual local meets for each area starting at say, 6pm. Then between 30 mins and 1.5hrs drive to a central meeting point which Basingstoke or Newbury look ideally placed. If there was enough interest we could even get some other regions to join up with us, such as Bath regional meet e.t.c.
What does everyone think about this idea? Good or Bad
I like the idea matt but think it would be confusing.
Im up for a meet towards bournemouth but need some more interest from people in that direction for it to be worth it. Failing that we shall run with hayling island.
Will wait and see what interest their is over the next few days, also gonna add a poll. What dates suit people?

Bournemouth would be way too far, hayling sounds like a plan. The dates were im august yes, so which ones can people do? I would prefer one of the thursdays?

I do yes! I want it for cold mornings! Start the car from inside house and have the heaters on from previous night, then get into nice warm car! lol
Works a treat in the hot weather with my Air Con! Where we looking at meeting in Hayling? There's gunna be a lot of people down there on summer holidays.
TBH i dont know hayling island that well. Will wait for someone like Chaz who knows the area better to decide an exact location. Will probably then start a new thread otherwise will get mega confusing! lol

Ringwood is a bit s**t really but Bournemouth isnt far from there! I can get from Ringwood to bournemouth in 5 mins
I dont mind where really, bonus if its this way but i have got to come to some meets and i will try and bring some peeps from here in sunny Bournemouth.

Yeah lee-on-solent wud be cool, i know 3 places where we could meet, theres two car parks which we could meet in or there is a huge hovercraft slipway over looking the sea which would be cool!

if you wanna avoid chavs then i think the two car parks are out of the question...also that slip way is normally packed when its hot because of people launching jet ski's boats etc all parking on it...

Can you actually get down on the beach? with your cars?
Can meet somewhere people know, say the hover craft slipway and move on from there.

Cant do a post code yet but will be somewhere near hayling island! Try Eastoke and it should take you somewhere there. Or try multimap and just put in hayling island and finds it fine.
Chances are a few people might meet in hedge end again and go from there down.
ill be there, gotta have the next one in bournemouth though.

What about having a south central meet every month but in a diffrent place, and say make it the second tuesday of every month?
^^ Sounds like a good plan but is pretty hard as people have different comitments etc. Come october i wouldnt be able to do a tuesday. Still a good idea to do it once a month but maybe not fix a date. Also think that like in september may not need a meet because of trax? or would do it later in the month before people leave to go back to uni.

I'll be there if I can make special visit to So'ton area on that day. Hmm two days before I am at the Bath meet for the South West.
If I come down I wouldn't be staying for too long as would be driving there and back in an evening.
Cant you just stay at heathers?
ALso moorsey can you make the hayling island thread a sticky please? if its special enough to be one!
