yeah they yoko. grip so well!
the wheels are great although i did have some rubbing at first
u need to shave the plastic of of the underside of the arch then there ok
went in three time to vaux to get um right!
they still graze a bit when i have 3 fattys in the back! but vaux sed it dont do any damage!
they stick out a bit too whichs look pretty mint i think

Skirts look nice mate ;)

I don't think you would have had as much rubbing if you'd put 205/40/17 tyres on instead of your yokos which are 215/40/17, but your toko will grip really well and look mega. Looked proper phat at the rear when I saw it :D

Did that bodyshop in stockport give you a price for colour-coding yours mate?

nah m8 i forgot to ask um cos he was in a bit of a rush
just give him a ring when u want it doing and go down n see him if your goin past. il give u direction if u need um
it cost me 150 to sand prime and paint my skirts but they had some coating on them to stop the paint from fleking when they flex so i dont think the arch will need that when spraying
def gonna get mine done when i saved abit of £££ again. next job..

(he took my sxi 1s off in the end.)

What's the offset on those wheels mate? They seem to stick out more than most and it looks wider! :D

Chewy
18-04-2004, 11:45
there irmscher rims so will be et38 vauxhall normally have to mod the arches to make them fit

R14lST
18-04-2004, 11:54
"modding the arches" the black arch plastic u see above the wheels is the stuff the wheels catch on inside. vuax just butcher bits of that off. it went in 3 times to take enough off! the last time they had to contact irmshcer to ask how to do it propperly.
its sorted now. the lttle bit of rubbing i do get, they sed will wear down in its own time and its not doin any damage :)

Chewy
18-04-2004, 11:56
why do they sell them in that offset though gets me.if they did them in et42 or more they wouldn't have to touch the arches

i rekon its becuase they sell these wheels on the vectra or astra. they fit on that perfect. because they cant be arse makin a whole new wheel just for the corsa, it must just be cheaper for them to do arch mods for it as i think the demand for them isnt that great. if evey1 1 got um they would probably make a whole new wheel that fitted perfect.+the arch mods on mine would have been more effective it they hadnot given me 215" wide tyres as si pointed out!
but im not complianin. i like them
if it was not for them i would not have be able to get 17inch wheels so i feel so lucky.
would have been stuck on 15s or 16s.

Chewy

True, they might go on with a bit less trouble without the sxi skirts, but I think they have more strength going over the sxi skirts. It's hard to get them to fit over the skirts fully as the front end of the skirts sticks out a tiny bit more on mine than it would if you'd removed the sxi skirts. Mine still look fine though :)

R14lST
18-04-2004, 14:30
yeah rekon your right wont be as stong. i gotta be well carful when i get out that i dont knock um with my foot.
si,s fit well and look mint!, but when i put mine up to the car the didnt seem to go on well at all, so at the body shop they thought it was best to take um off

How easy was it to remove the bump/rub strips from the side of the car????

I have read the tutorial on how to do it and it seems easy enough but just want some feedback from people about it.....................

its pretty piss easy mate. i just got a hairdryer(heat gun if u got 1) and heated them up and as i wnet along pull sections off. its still needs some force to pull it! sometime the sticky tape can stay on the paintwork, but dont worry about that, you can peel it off easy with your fingers after. however my car was fairly new when i took mine off, i heard that sometimes the can leave a faded mark behind becuase the paintwork has been hidden for so long. :)

Sounds simple enough. Will get my ass into gear and get it done tonight.

Anyone else had problems removing them??????

What i dont get is why people colour code them, why dont they just get them taken off...oh well.

hehe

cheers mate for the help

just cos some people think they look better on than off. just personell opinion. i like um off.
some people just prefer them colour coded.
there was 1 person on here last week of the week before that had a white stain or something behind the rubstrib when he took it off. dont happen that often tho. just go ahead and do it tonight. ul be well pleased when there off. :)

Cheap as well mate. I gotta admit that the majority of my mods have been generated by a bargain from there.
