Sub & Amp Problem

I've just noticed each time i turn up my volume on the stereo the sub cuts out and occasionally comes on, on some bass notes?

i've checked all the wires (some have the normal burn marks) and tightened them but still i have the same problem, i have even replaced the fuse

I am thinking of opening up the sub to see if theres a loose connection

i hope i havn't done any long term damage to it

did u have a look at the earth??

sounds to me like either an earth problem, or you have the gain set too high on the amp. the amp will cut out if its too high, in an effort not to fry itself

earth problem my mate had same prob turned corners and it came on and then went off he turned earth screw one extra time and it worked perfect he checked every wire in car to lol

I think i have fried my amp as i have now set the gain a bit low and it is working on higher volumes and the bass aint that loud like before

any suggestions what i could do?
