I've just noticed each time i turn up my volume on the stereo the sub cuts out and occasionally comes on, on some bass notes?

i've checked all the wires (some have the normal burn marks) and tightened them but still i have the same problem, i have even replaced the fuse

I am thinking of opening up the sub to see if theres a loose connection

i hope i havn't done any long term damage to it

anyone know what could be the problem?

is your CD skipping? sounds dumb but a few people have been caught out by it :woops:

dont replace the fuse with a bigger one... have you? a fuse either works or it doesnt. there's no middle ground mate.

youve got a good earth? :look:

When you say "some" bass notes. deep ones, or loud ones?

maybe you have a crap sub that cant go as low as the amplifier is asking it too?

open what up? the sub? you cant open that up on your own, or do you mean the box...?

Go round tugging fairly hard on all your wires, if any wobble slightly, re do the joint.

The sub was working fine up until yesterday, its like the sub wont work pass a certain volume control and only comes on frequenlty on some low bass notes and it works ok when the tune fades out

my CD doesnt skip

i've got a mono amp

how do i know if its earthed properly from the car chassis? what torx screw driver do i use to remove the cable running from the chassis as i might have to check that cable

If its earthed on the rear seats its a T30 bit to remove the screw. My earth is crimped into a ring, then i scratched paint away and the ring is under the screw.

Have you checked the connections to the actual sub and on the amp?

I think its a loose connection to the sub, as my front speakers did this and the postive had half slipped off on the passenger side, when I turned the volume up it skipped like the CD was fooked.
