Dont really know where to put this, sorry admin if its in the wrong place....

I need some electrical help. Literally 30 mins ago I was sitting with the engine on waiting to pick up my boyfriend, I turned it off and turned my lights off and my interior light came on and stayed on, along with my digital mileage display.

Ive got home, got out and locked up the car and both are still stuck on. Ive had to disconnect the power to the interior light and in doing this the digital display has now gone off.

Anybody got any ideas on what could have caused this?

push the light switch in to switch the interior light off and the mileage comes on and off when ya lock the car. so dont worry about it. jus go try switchin the light off

It doesnt go off when I push the light in, the two smaller lights come on but nothing goes off.

I know the mileage goes off when I lock the car but this time it isnt, its only gone off because Ive disconnected the interoir light

jus take the fuse out then and take it vaux and moan. easiest

If you're referring to Olly's answer Im not stupid. I know how to work my car just for some reason it doesnt seem to want to co-operate.

Not to me its not but thanks all the same :) Im looking for suggestions on what might be causing the problem, taking it to Vauxhall to be looked at in the morning will cost time and money I dont have right now

just a guess here

could be the key barrel itself causing the problem we had this but the car woudln't start but the light and mileage stayed on, cleaned it out with some spray then got a new one fitted prob solved might not be this but narrows it down for you

so you took it to vxl this morning... what did they say...?

if its never done it before, i'd have just d/c the batt for a few minutes and see if that worked.

The exact same thing has just happened to me - Filled up with Petrol, got back in the car and started up, and the interior light wouldn't go out.. kept driving thinking it would, but it didnt so had to pull over and sort it. As it was dark, and I had no tools.. I popped the plastic cover off and smashed the bulbs.. as were too hot to just pull out :(. Anyone have a solution to this yet? Would appreciate it, cheers.

open your door and see if the button where your door hinges are check that press it a few times check both doors

And you tried pressing in the light switch, did that work?
