Upgrade the big three wires under the boot, see the FAQ section

then if you still need a bigger battery then i dont think its worth getting the red or yellow tops as they are so expensive just get a bigger one to go in the space.

Well if you were pushing 1.3kw rms then you would get dimming

got a 400 watt amp and a 1500watt amp.. the 6x9s are on the 1500 watt one.. and on low bass notes they dim the lights. the sub is going on the 400watt amp.. and yeah its wired correctly. Dimmed in my last car too.

iirc blue and yellow tops are the same battery, remember that the 1500 watt amp is only pushing 300-400 rms. just do the big three the add a larger capacity battery

the standard battery is CRAP! it takes about 5 - 7 sec for the flimmin thing to start. me last car was a 1.3 (non-vaux, korean) and that had no probs starting up, as soon as i turned the key it was on and then away i went! it only seemed to have a few probs when the battery was knackered. changed it worked fine.
Now its like.. *turn key*..... :err: .... start...
So am thinking if i have a uprated battery then everything will be better. including starting the engine :D

Im having this problem of dimming lights, what do I need to upgrade? whats the big three wires?
are you going to do split charge or just replace it? if split charge get a yellow top or a redtop of its subs

you silly sausage...
if you havent changed the big three then you wont be playing your amp to its max...
an amp can only draw in as much power as it can get rid of.. so if you are powering with 0awg for example, and the chassis to batt negative hasnt been changed, then you are only pulling in power equivilant to that wire size.
and i tried running a 1250watts (RMS) and my car lights almost switched off
back on topic - the colour of the batt doesnt decide what car it goes in :P
you get a batt for what you want...
if you drive your corsa accross the Pacific ocean on a regular basis, go blue
if you drive your corsa through rough terrain in the sarah desert, go red
if you listen to your stereo with your car off for hours on end, go yellow.
what are the values of the amps, and we could recomend a good battery size.
