Konami announces Pro Evolution Soccer 6 next-gen version debuting on 360 - but no word on PS3. Plus, new gameplay details.

UK, August 23, 2006 - Konami has sunk one in the back of the net with the news that the highly-anticipated next-gen debut of its Pro Evolution Soccer series will be on Xbox 360 - with no mention being made of a PS3 version. Meanwhile, current-gen iterations of the game will also hit PS2, PSP, DS and PC.
While the Xbox 360 game will sport significantly improved visuals and animation, all versions will boast major gameplay enhancements. Firstly, player AI has been upgraded - now players will work to turn defenders, with defenders themselves now smart enough to back off slightly to prevent such moves. Players will also intelligently run into space while not in possession of the ball.
Pro Evo 6 also includes a much-refined shooting system - players can now attempt more snap shots than previously possible, while volley and half-volley mechanics have been overhauled. Additional abilities include all-new feints, backwards dribbling (thanks to improved dribbling controls) and being able to retain control of the ball when performing a sliding tackle.
Furthermore, both PS2 and PC versions will feature significantly improved online functionality, with up to eight players now able to compete simultaneously through four linked systems.
Finally, PES 6 is set to include fully-licensed kits for the Czech, French, Australian, English, Italian, Argentinian, Spanish and Swedish national sides. Additionally, Bayern Munich, Sporting Lisbon and Benfica from Portugal, Greece's Olympiacos Piraeus and Manchester United will put in appearance alongside the French Championat league.
Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will arrive on Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, PC and DS this October.Cant wait for this game... 2 months to go :D
