View Full Version : £200 Headunit
Can anbody help me, im looking at getting the fli active 12" sub, i have infinity referecne front comps and 6x9s, and now all i need is a new headunit, i have around £150 - £200 to spend. i can go up to £400 - £500 for one with a flip out screen but it must have sat nav, i havent seen one for that cheap yet.
Id like the headunit to have a decent sound quality, not bothered about bluetooth , ipod conector would be nice but not essential, i like the look of alpine but also heard pioneer are good though ive never actualy liked the look of these.
thanks

alpine
i have the alpine 9853r mate with the ipod adapter, lots of features and good sound from it its around the 200 mark and i think about 230 with the ipod adapter which i use all the time, log on to caraudio security and check out the cda 9853r, or you can go for its big bro which is very popular being the cda 9855r :D
I got pioner P70BT with Ipod adapter, not sure how much but sounds good :)
erm whats the motorised thing called on alpine units, i dont like the ones that just flop down, ive only just got the internet back today after 2 weeks so need to check all these out that youve recomended
its called swingface matey and its really cool the 9853r has it :)
becarefull with pioneer, there cheaper units take ages to read an MP3 cd.
alpine is right for your instal IMO. i wouldnt get anything above that. Pionner/JVC would be better usually, but not in this case considering your set up. Alpine HU's are really only good for running standard speakers, and there own alpine models, and lower end gear.
this is the reason alpine is so good, it gets the best out of budget stuff. The moment you hook it up to something decent, you'll know its time to change HU ;)
NOTE: they are also concentrating too much on IPOD rubbish too atm, so if u arent ipod-ing, get an older Alpine (like my 9812RB) or a pioneer. This is for people reading btw, not jus you ;)
