got in my car this morning and realised that i had left my face in its box in the glovebox, so i put it on, and it had a bit of condensation on it, so as i wipes my finger over the screen to wipe it off i noticed that the laqure off the silver bit round the buttons came off on my finger, so its all shiney one end now and the "MODE" word has come off, could i take it back to halfords you recon? iv only had it about 2 months?

thats a bit weird, i'd try to take it back 1st. If that fails i'd get in touch with alpine, the build quality of alpine units is normally very good!

i just run my fingers over the buttons cuz it looked like it has condensation on it, like when a windows misted up, and it all rubbed off onto my finger, it was like dry PVA glue?

will they be able to change just the face or will the whole HU have to go back?

the moisture has got under the finish. Did it have any scratches?

no, like i say its 2 months old, If that!, i dont really use it ver often, i only work 2 miles away lol, you can see on the pic further along where it looks rough above the 3&4 button.

i know its not bad, but over time it will get worse and i can say byebye to all my writing along the top, its shuddnt do it, thats whats bugging me

true, i should know better by now, at least i can take it back thou, if id bought it off the net, i woud have to post it back.

lol i know, it was the look i was going for, shows how clean my car is lol it was either a reflection of that or a rover 200

YOu can also buy ICE from car aduio security i have no problem with them, brought loads of stuff from them.
