Footwell Neons

done a search and read the tutorials, is there anyway to hook up some neons with the cigarette lighter and not the battery or courtesy light? is any soldering involved lol? Need help wanna do this tonight cheers every1

if you want it to come on only with ignition on:
use the wires on the back of the cigy lighter. black is ignition live, brown is earth. use scotch lock connectors to "tap into" the wire so the lighter stays functional.

if you want to be able to turn it on all the time:
either tap into the red wire going into the back of your HU, and earth at chassis. Or run a directed feed from the batt. Or whack a distibution block in the cable going to your amplpfiier in the boot and tap use this.

sweet. if you are hard wiring, i guess you are hacing to cut the cigy lighter plug off of the end?

the cigy lighter will have a 10amp "tube" fuse in it. you will need to fuse you're new wiring, so buy a cylindrical fused holder, or a blade fuse and blade fuse holder.

when you cut the wires going to the plug:
the LIVE wire is the wire that connects up to the metal contact on the bottom of the plug.
the EARTH wire is the wire that connects to the side contacts of the plug.

A simple 50p switch will do from halfrauds. you can still whack a switch in ignition live AND perminant live btw, dunno if i made that clear :?

im simple martin lol, its comes with a switch an inverter like one on tutorial. the yellow and black wire are already crimped. got my torx to get glove off. thanks for your time bet im frustrating

is it fused? i have no idea if they need fusing.. i was always told to fuse everything..

here is the picture of the switch and the connection to the lighter, these all go in the inverter.Do i still need a scotchlok?

all a scotch lock connector does is crimp onto a wire halfway along, and it you can have another wire coming out of it... so it turns 1 wire into 2 wires...

you need a scotch lock if you dont wana run a new live from batt, and instead want to tap into an existing wire...

what do you mean "invertor" ?

T15 or T20 for glove box i believe.


i removed the wires from my cig liter and jst put them into a terminal block. as ill never use my cig lighter.
