MY05 model cars are 'Mini-ISO' which incorporates the CanBUS signals. What's the model number of your current Vaux HU? If it';s a CD30 then get the mini-ISO connector from BMW(Mini) and be done with it. If not they will plug in direct or you'll just need a standard ISO lead for a few quid ;)

its a cd30 that i currently have.

jus spoke to a car stereo plaec nr me on the phone and he said i need this cable which he has there for 13 squids but it doesnt have an ignition wire or something so that needs to be wired differently? although he said if im happy to switch the hu off manualy (ie not have it go off with the ignition) it will work

omg this is confusing me?!

he also mentioned that its a quadlock one?!

looking at the above mentioned website, the one listed for the mini is a quadlock one too?

what confuses you? Ka$h just explained it, and then so did a man on the phone...?

buy the mini lead, or the one this bloke has for £13, and its up to you whether you re wire you're lead into ignition live..

i think there was a tutorial by SpeedX im not sure, il go look

You have to wire in a live seperately and it works as he described with a perm live. This is one of the problems of the new wiring system. All sounds good and for £13 you can't complain

Cant really find anything - just ppl askin the same question or that they have done it and the alarm is sounding and they cant get it to go off!

did find one post saying u have to turn the ignition on then off and quickly disconnect it?

is this right??

if so, cant u just switch th ignition on and then then whack the negative lead off??

cheers
