What is H.I.D? And is it the reason why no matter how many different types of bulbs i buy i can not for the life of me get them to look blue! I have tried halfords laser blue H7 bulbs ring ice blue H7 bulbs, and they do not look blue from any angle or distance, they look a nice crisp white, but i want blue like the mercedes do and x5's E.T.C.

Halogen bulbs that emit a blue light are illegal. They can be blue tinted but as long as they emit white when on, they are legal. Bulbs like Philips Vision Blue has a hint of blue due to the tint but the light it emits is white.

HID on the other hand emits white light but can vary towards the blue scale (but it is still emitting white light). Due to the way it operates (different elements which I won't bore you with), it is brighter unlike the halogen bulbs.
