looking nice & clean ka$h how much did the rear spoiler cost? did u replace ur red lights, my smoked rear lights shud be arrving tomorrow!
lol if u find any, i also want the 16" Sri 5 Spokes With 205/45/16 Tires!, also let me know about sxi skirts as well price etc
1st last thing i have also got the sxi hand brake cover, but found it a bitch to put on, so left it, is it quite easy to remove the standard 1?
keep up the good work
CN,
Spoiler --- £40 Painted and deilvered (E-Bay)
Rear Lights replaced --- £76 from Vx
Wheels --- I'll keep my eyes peeled
SXi Skirts, see Noonster, as he is selling his old ones.
Is the handbrake cover the rubber grip with silver clip on bit, or just the clip on bit?
K

just the clip on bit
jonny_sri
20-04-2004, 20:45
did you not want your spoiler the same colour as the car?
Jonny:
Na, I like the black & Blue effect, Especially with the lights and Tints
CN:
Go buy the other bit from Vx, otherwise it dont fit. The replacement handle is more rubber than plastic, and it is cut/shaped to take the silver bit. Swopping these two over is pretty easy once you have the grey handle piece that matches your silver cover. There are too many people selling just the silver cover on E-Bay, and really, they should sell both bits.
not a bad car. johnny his spoiler is painted the same colour i think. its just the way the photo woz taken
Nice motor mate - its getting there :D
Looks exactly how i picked my old one up fromthe dealer september 2001..
oh, and good luck with the sideskirts... u need a lot of ****ign about to get them to mount on models without standard skirts.
I have a brother in law who has a dman site more patience than me that for sure. He's fitting BTW Scott.
Cheers Daz, Slow but sure, bit by bit. Just need me wheels to make the big step in looks.
Yeah wheels make a BIG difference mate :D

u;ll nbeed to drille holes into the sills and attach the mountign clips for the skirts...
Drill/Rivet/Bond not a problem. He work in body repair on cars and buses, so he say's it won't be a problem. I have total faith in him.
nice to see a different colour C
agree with the wheels, will make a big difference!
swap that massive aerial for a mini beesting aswell :)
On order from Cobra. One black one please I said, and he's gone and ordered some! Never been to keen on the colour, but when it's the only one in the showroom and you need a car you take what you can get (at a discount of course).
why r u messing around spending loads making it look like a sxi by the looks of things when the money could go towards a mental kit and have a wicked motor??????
saying that why didnt you save and get a SXI in the 1st place and not have a copy version????
not being rude but cant c why your doing it??? :?

I'm sure when ka$h bought his car, he bought it as transport like me. It wasn't until I found this site that I became interested in modding it. What's he supposed to do? Sell it and buy an SXi/SRi or spend some of the money that would cost on making it individual??
This site plagued my mind too before i new it spending loads of money on allsorts of bits.
Damo,
I wrote my car off three & a half year ago, and Insurance went to £1600 for a standard LS Astra. I could have a brand new corsa for £1200 a year with free insurance.
Therefore I saved £400 and had a brand new car. I have got a company car allowance starting next month, and probably will buy a Scooby with it now that I have managed to get my insurance down by driving a group 1 car for over 3 years.
Due to the fact I have only done 19,000 in over 3 years, it's just a hobby piss farting about doing little bits of this and that, and to be honest I haven't spent that much at the mo, I reckon less than £250 for a car that without changing it I can sell on and not worry about having to put it back to standard.

ka$h i got the same comment from damo, why didn't i buy an SXi?? :x :x
see my car page ...
hmm maybe it has somthing to do with money you have at the time when buying a car???
he seems to think if its not sxi, its not worth spending anything on, pointless buying sxi stuff!

Just sitting nice mate, handles a lot better too, I can really feel a difference. Yours would look good with your 17's, they would just fill out the arches lovely. But I assume that'll be phase 2

looking really good! do sum colour coding bump strips boot handle, after all u told me how to do mine :)
I'm in 2 minds about the c/c and with it being over 3 years old, I have a problem with fading, and the glue that holds the badges and strips on. Like it dont wanna come off.
Two badges took me over an hour and twenty to clean all the glue off. Tw*tful I can tell ya.
I have the skirts to go on, I'm chasing a price on a lip spoiler, and I think a steiny grille will look the mutts nuts. Boot handle and badges will follow probably next month, it's just getting the time. :|
Looking tidy mate

What a difference those wheels make.... looks nice, and you got the added bonus of drums at the back so it dont cover you back wheels in as much brake dust....

I have some PIAA White/Blue LED Sidelight coming either tomorrow or Monday so, no comments about how poor these ones look. I know :(
how do u fit the blue lights on the dials :?:
There's two answers to this, and one is to change them for LED's on the back. See my guide for changing.
http://www.corsa-c.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1384
Alternatively, you can do what I did and buy the Lockwood dial kit that has the 'cool blue' illumination. they also do then in green and red. They cost about £40.
The cheap option is buy some LED's from Cobra148 on here and change just them.

Errr Paint??!?
I just went and bought a touch up pen for £1.75 and used that. A bit cowboyish, but it does the trick. Only thing is, at night, the blue doesn't catch the light :(

well done ka$h u must be pleased with that, where did u get the skirts, and arches from?? easy to do?
another fine mod to a comfort! :)
I got the skirts of someone on CS and the arches came from Sel-imperial.co.uk
It took me all morning (8-1) to do the mods including the front grille and foggies as well.
Now I know how to do it, it's not that difficult tbh.
To get the arches off it's a 10mm socket and a bit of patience. having the -30mm drop and 16" wheels didn't help much, it was very tight. 5 nuts on the back, two on the front as well as 4 clips on the front. I then had to refit the new rears, and then decide how to stick the skirts on.
Some heavy duty double sided and sikaflex adhesive along the sides and a rivet at the front holds it all on!
Finally pop the front arch on and fasten up the two nuts.
If I had to do it again, it would take a lot less as it is half method and half application.
The front grille was as per the guides on here, and was easier as I already had the bolts out from the arches :)
I just gotta finish off in the morning by replacing the light switch unit (it's a swine to get out) and I need a relay to finish the job off as the wiring harness is already there for the foggies :D
A quick wash and polish and a couple of photos tomorrow teatime and that's that. It'll finish off a fine weekend of modding for me

Lightec Autostyle

No they're not scott :(
I've put foggies in mine, but not wired them in as the wiring loom ain there. The space for the relay and fuse is available obviously in the fuse box. And when I push the interior switch the relay is activated. So I guess you gotta run a wire from both fogs to that relay and fuse
Ka$h that is one nice car mate if you saw that driving around you would never belive that was a comfort nice one mate and keep up the good work

Your car is coming along nicely! I think it is interesting that you have the Holden badge on the rear, down here the guys cant get the holden badges off quick enough!!!! I took all mine of asap and replaced them with Opel, then I burnt the Holden ones...! (As you can tell I am not a big Holden fan!!) I guess its something different for you guys, plus you dont have to put up with the **** of being associated with Holden Commodores.
WB/CN The foggies are fitted to a point, as the loom is in the bottom of the car, but does not appear to make it to the fuse/relay box! Which relay number is it, as I need to work on this at the weekend! The switch is in place (£38 from vaux) all I need to do is patch them together. :?
As for a guide, just buy some s/h foggies & bumper loom and you'll need a lower grille (SRi one £12 from vaux) Use Si's bumper removal guide and the guide for changing the grille (MM's I think) and half the job is done.
The rest I shall find out this weekend I hope, if someone tells me what relay number it is!
Thanks for the comments guys, really appreciated.
Dazza, as you say to us it's something different as opposed to the Griffin or opel flash, which I don't like, and the holden is different, and I prefer it obviously otherwise I wouldn't have put it on :D
Cheers

Possibly the handles, but if I do, I want a 5 dorr rear for the drivers side to take away the keyhole. I'll go to vaux later and ask for a price :o
I got some items coming that need painted, so I'll do it all then.
Yeah be cheaper to do it all together..... it would look nice with colour coded handles.... fool people thinking it is an SRi

Sort of, I been experimenting with a friends piece of kit and thought I'd see how easy it was. I'm not telling, but I can feel a big big spend coming on
well there is plenty of money to be made on e bay and such
Mmmmmm I know. Have you seen those caliper stickers  40p to make, and they're selling for a tenner. You wonder why I'm thinking about it!
yep certainly can.when i first got on e bay i made a grand selling tat out of the attic.that was before you had to pay vat and the fees where well cheap.also bought a bulk load of winnie the pooh clocks as i still have a trade card for the local wholesalers and sold them for loads of profit on e bay

OK, so two days have past since my last mod!
Today I painted my calipers and drums in silver.

I also finally dropped my bumper off to properly sort out my sidelights as they are inaccessible when on.
Pics of those later.
i dont get you kash what do you mean by your sidelights are inaccessible
Hey kash, how you go about painting your calipers and drums, did you take them off? i sprayed my drums and used a brush on the calipers but there were some areas of the calipers that i couldnt get to?
You can't get in to the back of the lights to change the bulbs. There just aint enough space. I can get the cover off but that's it. On the N/S anyway.
C4, I just got the tin of paint out and tackled it with a brush on the car. You can't see the areas you can't get too, or at least I cant, and I had my head well under the arch!
Your wheels are so clean.... i got crap which has got in the edges of my wheels that i cant get rid of... its been there a while now and just wont go... gone yellow now... any idea of how to remove the dirt? washing wont get it off, i have put wax for wheels on there too....
Yeah me too, but it felt a bit untidy leavin blank bits, even though you couldnt see them

Vortex: Those wheels are scruffy mate, ?I reckon you should have gone to specsavers! There's no marks round the edges cos when I wash them, I use turtle wax alloy wheel cleaner in a bright green bottle. Also I aint kerbed em, just grazed the front one in the pic. You can see marks above the top stud and scratches on the upper left two spokes.
C4: I really couldn't see anymoe blank bit when I was done, but that don't mean there aren't any. If you cant get in, use a small brush.
Chewy: Nah, just drop the bumper on that side only and whip off the three holding bolts. Only took ten mins. You can actually get to that underside olt by lying on the floor, but I didn't fancy doing that, just as easy to whip the bumper off!

Looks gd Paul
I took time off work to have a break, and that appears to mean using the car as a distraction, which looks better every day :D Cheers David
Probably! Not sure as I'm out tomorrow on the beer so....possibly saturday as I fancy a trip out to see Noonster and AJ on sunday, but not too sure. I'm almost guaranteed to have a hangover on Saturday too, so drilling might no be the best idea.

door handles i got mine done fitted & sprayed, the pair for £105 ages ago at vaux
I reckon I'll knock £50 off that price by buying primed (with discount) and getting those sprayed with my other bits (less labour cos they're primed, and materials are already bought!) So fitting is the only thing, and I can do that!
Cheers for the comments guys, but watch this space as ever, cos something else will change in the near future.
Don't ask, cos even I don't know what yet, but something

Sounds like you need a decent alloy cleaner and a toothbrush to sort that out! Take the wheels off one at a time and give them some attention. It'll be worth it in the end mate.
There you are, you've just found something to do this weekend!
Thanks :)
Might have to get some alloy cleaner from halfords.... then i'll use the misses toothbrush

chuck some my way mate
What the receipts? That's all it's got in it apart from MM's money!
kash to fit the bonnet lifters did u have to drill holes or nething? or the holes already there to be fitted on?
Exclusiv 1.4
22-07-2004, 14:57
You have to drill for them mate
You need to drill each bonnet hinge twice, and then drop the hinge off the bonnet, but you can do one side at a time to save removing the bonnet. Then you swop a bolt on the wing for the lifter anchor bolt and insert the strut. Fairly simple. should take about 20-25 mins all in. The only problem both me and diddon had was the kit comes with four bolts for the hinges which are too short. We had to get some longer ones to suit. Only problem there.
was drilling thru the metal easy ? or did it require ne special tools? electric drill fine?
I just bought a cheap electric drill from argos. Did the job fine. Mind you I blunted one drill bit and had to use snother. But yeah, easy enough!
Your car keeps changing too fast to keep up with.... are you one for variety?
Looks nice though always have liked them rims
Loads of things to do and not enough time to do them Tex!
I am doing mods of the mods myself, so I make the changes when it fits my schedule, which means a little bit here and there when I have the time.
I need to sort out my headlights this weekend, and if I can get a nut, the sharkfin will be sorted properly. When I get a couple of more pieces, there'll be some painting going on and some more pieces added.
What I can when I can. Sorry for the little and often changes. Was always told that's better than one big changes as it keeps your interest in the car.
Cheers for the comments guys
There will be more as I keep changing as per usual.
OK, nut orderd will be here Wed, bulbs on way for Tuesday. Bits to paint sorted by Thursday, meaning everything B4 Trax
Ur car is changin all the time! loox really gd, who was the lucky one who got ur sri wheels?
The garage!
MM needed vaux alloys to trade in without losing money, and didn't want to give the Reflexes to the garage fpr someone to spot and sell at a profit, so I swopped with him. And a Ka$h incentive as well, but I know I got the better deal.
Shame we couldn't have found some SXi rims quickly last week, otherwise they would have been sold here I reckon.
More changes to come mate, don't worry  Watch this space

cheers :? nope not at all. Original SXi one. £27
looks wicked now ka$h
i cant help thinking it looks plain from the back compared to the front. its not a bad thing but are you planning on doing anything to it :?:
Not yet, I've gone indorrs as it were. Inside next, and outside can wait before it gets a revisit. If I get a cheap tailgate of the bay, I will flush it, and possibly a tail for it as well, but that's a long way off. As it stands I can sell it back to a vaux dealer very quickly and easily by removing the tints and changing the wheels back. That way it's still a standard vaux Irmscher styled. If I start to add kit panels and things, it requires a different angle of attack.
 looking good mate looks better with the steiny grille colour coded
im not knocking the car as i think it looks 8)
loving the pic in the forrest too!

Shouldn't leave a trace I can follow mate. All makes sense now tho
looks really well now kash mate mines now been lowered still looking for the irmscher front and some dick scraped my front bumper whilst it was parked up
Not good mate. You free next weekend for a meet? Jacksons Landing is te venue, check out the meets section.
ka$h you mentioned that if you wanted to sell the car on you coul do so easy by taking it to vaux. what would they have to say about the steinmetz grille as you cant put that back to standard?????
if i had finance with vaux would they be happy about me modding the car ???????
cud easily find sum1 2swap a front bumper for a steiny grill/bumper
That's the only mod, and it also adds appeal so it's not a problem. I spoke to the dealership while I was there buying the astra and the y looked and agreed with me that it wouldn't be a problem.
have you anymore plans for the ka$h cart as i know you have the astra now
i think your car is crying out for a Si/Chewy rear skirt and exhaust combo
Rear skirt is an option, and the Steiny one is nice. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
There's plaenty afoot, just watch this space
K
the steiny rear skirt would look nice in your cars colour :D
why not be the first to have an irmscher rear bumper with an irmscher backbox out of each side??
That would also be neat but wouldnt be the 1st to have it done as Trotty on corsasport has that done and it looks great in the metal as i was following him in town the other day as he lives by me and it looks good
He has a custom exhaust and not a Irmscher so it would be slightly differant :)
oohhh can u point me in the direction of some pics?
I dont wanna hijack Ka$h's post talking about this even if im guessing he wont mind as it will push his post up to nearly 11 pages
Trotty has a custom oval exhaust either side of his irmscher rear bumper and the exhausts sound loud and look great
Go onto corsasport and have a look at Trottys garage and you will see it :)

cheers :)
that is looking very good, would be better with a twin pipe at each side tho
Does look abit bottom heavy abit like afew women I know
Needs a rear spoiler to balance it out abit
It sounds loud a feck when your up behind it and i think it looks better for sure in the metal
Im surprised nobody has done something similar to their C on here
