fitting front fogs? [Archive]

I have the foglights and loom with them, but I'm wondering if my car will have the foglight loom already?

if it hasn't, are they easy to wire up?

if you mean with the OEM switch - no. there are 3 points that need to be connected on the main dash harness. I made notes of which ones they were but its not in front of me. alos there is a TECH2 setting that needs to be toggled.

could well be the foglight wiring. I found the same set of plugs on mine (you have two do you not?)

that part is there. the relay and fuse are missing and the wiring front the light switch to the BCM is also missing. if you are elecrically minded:swap the light switch for a front fog version, ADD a wire from pin 9 on the light switch to pin 3 on the BCM (rear plug torwards firewall in relay panel),add the relay and 10a fuse and put the light in the dash. you will also have to get the lights turned on via tech 2.

now a much simpler way is to grab a dash harness from a car with them and swap them over. the above still applies.

TBH, I think I'll get the foglights in, and connected to the engine bay loom, then take it to my local dealer, and get them to get it working, if I've got to get them to play on tech2 anyway.

there's a bit of wiring involved. the wiring from the switch to teh BCM is not there..

locally the dealers wont do that sort of thing, they would rather do servicing than do modding - go figure.

only one way to find out - pull the front bumper off.. mine was there and this is a VERY basic Combo C. the back half wasnt there (all the interior wiring.)

you are looking for a taped harness coming off the horn on one side and the headlight on the other.

it doesn't matter what model u got sxi elegance etc the looms are always put in incase someone wants added extras like foglights so they make it easier by already putting in the wires
