i run a CD changer and an ipod adaptor i have done this through the Ai-net expansion box so you would add a DVD changer the same way
but i think that the cva-1004 has an AUX input for audio and video so you could use any after market DVD player with an AUX video / audio output i would have thought
ok cool, so just to clarify, i'll need the expansion box, but any dvd player will do? any ideas on a dvd player? also is it better under the seat or in the glovebox?

the expansion box is only needed if you want to add a DVD player via the Ai-net connector
if you get an after market one you will not need the expansion box at all
i would give the guys at caraudiosecurity a ring mind before you assume i am correct and spend your money!!
i am sure they will have some good DVD players as well
ok cool, will do that matey, thx. so if the ipod adapter is connected to the ai-net, what would the dvd player be connected to, aux out?(if there is one?)

the dvd player will have a AUX video / audio output and the CDA-1004 has an AUX audio / video input
the drawback is you would have no contol over the DVD player from the headunit this might limit your mounting positions
ok thats fair enough, not too bothered about HU control, will just stick a dvd in and let it play from start of my journey! does this mean i can plug a dvd player straight into my aux inputs on my HU (ipod is plugged into ai-net) with out the use of kce104v expansion box? as this would make it alot cheaper!!!

yeah i think so, i am pretty sure the headunit you have has an AUX video input

it looks like if you connect it to an alpine DVD player you can contol it from the headunit the manual can be found here
http://www.alpine-europe.com/content/cms/index.php?t=204&manualsearch=CVA-1004R,RR
if you dont have one
got the manual, just dont really wanna fork out loads for an alpine dvd player as it wont get used enough to justify the pricetag, thx for the info and link tho mate :)
