Mine was £95 and made by Bosch. Took a couple of hours to fit (remove bumper etc). Plug and play tbh!

Nice one mate, they look good? No heat issues?? You got the sellers details?
and looks the b*llocks! hids are on my list once an irmy twin round has been fitted....
i'm after 6000k hids
Whay whats the diff mate? what colour temp gives you the nice bright blue/white colour that you see on all the top end cars?
either 6000k (bmw's) or 8000k (a bit bluer) anything over 10,000k is illegal (and crap vision) anything below 4000k is yellow...
so whats 10 000k like then mate? real blue??

They use less power than standard halogens! The arc for the ignition is created by the 2 ballast units that connect to the hid bulb so no dodgy wiring etc.
They look bloody amazing. You dont need fogs or main beam anymore.
Get alot of stares from passers by wondering why a corsa has HID! But word of advice. I got 8000k bulbs which imo are a little TOO blue. 6000-7000k would be perfect. I have followed 2 cop cars and seen many others since putting them in. No law problems.
The units came from Hong Kong. Sounds dodgy but it was fine and came in 6 days. Also got 1 year gurantee.
no, its purple and ****e vision! temp goes up but they arent as briht, brightest are 6000k, bluest are 8000k

Anybody had an MOT with one of these kits on yet? There's an article in AutoExpress magazine this week saying it's so bad how loads of people are putting aftermarket HID kits on their cars, and they're actually illegal, etc. and how your car won't pass MOT because the beam pattern is dodgy, etc.
There is actually a quote from the Department of Transport and they reckon that they're not legal and require automatic level adjustment and headlight washers, and that once fitted the vehicle should not pass MOT?
6000k it is then, cheers lads. should look sweet. Easy to wire then? bumper off job?

legally, you only need the headlight washers if you had the hid's fitted as standard from the factory, so no worries there, however, unsure where you stand leally with auto levelers....
we'll see when people go for their mots!

Well that's what one of the dealers 'Quicksilver' told the magazine, but the quote from the Department of Transport contradicts that.
Even if it's legal now, I can see HIDs becoming 'the new tints' when the 'loopholes' get tightened and the cops start enforcing the law.
doh, I better get em in now while I can still enjoy em then lol!
