Hi,

My front drivers side indicator keeps failing to work.

The dashboard light does the fast flashing thing so too does the side indicator and the rear but when i take the front bulb out to have a look the bulb is fine and not blown. Then when i put the bulb back in it all works fine (for a few days)!!!

I have even bought new bulbs and the same things keeps happening so i'm 95% sure its not a bulb problem.

This has been going on for ages now and would like to get to the bottom of it.

Can anyone help.

Thanks

The fast dash/light flashing is due to a fuse which has probably popped. If a new fuse doesn't sort it then you will need to have a further look into the electrics of the car

ok i will try both of these ideas. But.... i'm not an expert nor am i trying to outsmart anyone but if the bulb wasn't connected properly surely from the amount of times i have had the bulb out i must have put it back proplerly once.

Also arent fuses either blown or not?? Or can you get 'iffy' fuses??

Thanks

Well I replaced 6 left front indicators in as many months and a fuse to match. None worked.

Put the bulb in differently to how I remembered putting it in the other times. 18 months on and the problem had not come back.

ok thanks. i will try that then, so you reckon put the bulb in oppostite way round, or rotate it round or summat???

Well I rotated mine until it would go no further, so quite forcefully I guess.

IF a fuse had gone then I'd assume everything related to that fuse would be iffy too so I don't think it's a fuse. Maybe a duff relay if none of the above solves the problem?
