I'm running amp'd up JBL 6x9s and they're immense!
I have heard Sony are bad quality but then again they're cheap to buy, and brands like Vibe are typical competition gear - i.e. they're good if you want to get a front page on max power and make the roof cave in at max power live, but for just cruising around, they're too expensive and pointless.
My JBL's are in between. They're on the cheaper side of the spectrum but they offer great quality and are a decent price.

does it sound ok if you have 6x9's on your parcel shelf and then 2 10" subs in the boot and front componenets...would that sound ok
No need for 6*9s if your having subs.

I remember hearing some Pioneer TSA-69xx ones a bit ago..you'd have to go down halfords and have a listen to get the right model (the plain TS-A6901's are very clear for highs but not very bassy), but they were awesome and only about £40-50

theres no point in getting 6x9s if you are running a sub in the boot. Over time the bass from the subs will damage the 6x9s. My advice is to spend the extra 50 bucks on a decent pair of front components and an amp. You will not be disappointed with the sound staging with front comps

Bought some infinity as they were half price. Had to hack screw hole area to fit adapters. Then one just rattled like hell, and the other barely audible.
Matey checked them over, listened to them etc, and half hour later got my refund.
Dunno if he had impaired vision or what.
But no way can cutting the plastic around screw holes fcuk them??
they must have been faulty. you can only tell if the problem is with the 6x9s by trying some different ones in your car. If these dont work either, your headunit or wiring is the problem

Car side of it is fine mate. He tried them in store too.
All I did was dremel the thick plastic which is in line with the screw holes to fit the adaptors which didn't quite line up. All that is different is the thickness here, nothing to do with magnet or cone etc was touched.
Was sweating a bit though, but nothing was mentioned about it.
wa amp all u guys running these off?
