mate of mine has this unit and had nuthin but problems with it keeps cuttin out , losing power etc hes has 3 different units on warrrenty and they have all ****ed up

there is a lot of difference in terms of luxuries, they both play music etc, but the 9855 has more things. can change the colour, swingface and glidetouch are what i no of. if you just want ipod connectivity get a cheaper one from another company. for that price u can get a top of the line alpine unit instead of alpines bottom-mid range units

has aux in too. or you could go for the 9812rb which is what i have and it is a fooking amazing unit

yea good headunit had it for a while, had the 55 aswell in 05 and didnt like the whole touch control esp when trying to drive, thats the problem and it appears alpine have realised it wasnt going to work. 9857 all the way

That would be a wiring error he has made then lol or maybe a lose connection e.g. earth....
