CD Player - Clicking

Every now and again my CD player just starts clicking madly, and none of the buttons work, won't turn off, won't eject the CD, nothing, Its the unit itself not through the speakers, i've heard someone elses on a fiesta do the same thing too, anyone have the same problem, its an 04 model corsa, would it be under the warranty aswell? thanks

i had that on mine too its a well annoying sound! so in the end got fed up of it and oculdnt fix it so bought a new head unit :yippe: good excuse to get a new cd player!

yep mine did this so i went into vauxhall the other day, and as its still under warranty, they ordered me a new one in! VX are fitting it tommorow!

funny thing is though, when i turned up at the garage, the CD player started to behve itself, and the mechanic came back saying 'there seems to be no problem'. i then told him, it fuks up wen it feels like it, to which he LOL'd, and said hed order a new one!

yep this is a v. common fault on vx cd players took it to my uncle who works at vx but theres nothing that can be done about it! Its a fault that comes and goes but im not too fussed about it these days

Mine does this, but the dealer said there was nothing wrong with it like what happened with cdti. Thing I'll mention it to them again.

Does anyone know if this damages the CD, as it can keep doing this on mine for about 15 secs sometimes!

if it under warranty, take it 2 VX, if not, get a new HU!

i find punching it hard where the CD slot is stops the clicking immdiately, then the cd should take bout 5 secs 2 load

It doesn't matter to be fair. Although now I only stick copies in my car, in case it gets broken into, and because my CDs get scratched so easy.
