Right, i'm looking to buy a full sound system set up for my 01 black COrsa SXi, cos atm it sounds poo.
I'm after a good system. One that is louder and better quality than my standard one, but obviously I can't afford the best so aint looking for the best quality ever or loudest around. Just looking for a decent set up.
I'm willin to spend a bit of money. The set up im looking at is a new HU, not sure which one yet. But 6x9's in the back shelf (probably a stealth shelf), Components in the front doors, all run of an amp.
I'm looking at these 6x9's

and these components:

Are these good speakers? would they sound good and go loud? what do you think? Also are they the right size for my C etc?
Can you recomend an amp to get the full potential out of these speakers? I want to run both sets off the same amp.
Will I need anything else? Any adapters, or fittings? How will the compnents be fitted to the doors?
Cheers
Ask Martin he Knows his stuff TBH! :)

Yeh he'll prob see it a have a word! lol! IMO and alot of other peoples opinions don't waste money on 6 x 9s coz its not worth it! Save the £ and spend it on a really good set of comps, sub and then a good amp to power it all. Then you have to decide want headunit you want, then buy the facia surround and wiring harness depending on what year your car was made! CANBUS or what ever(theres a thread on this for you i'll try and find it)!

i am another one of those people that say dont do 6x9's
set up is important when installing speakers, very important, so staging 6x9's in the parcel shelf will not help there performance.
also u have to decide between 6x9's and a sub cos the pair do not mix.

I really aint looking to put in a sub though cos i need the boot space. I like all kinds of music so it wont realli need to suite any type,
Just wondering though, what actually is wrong with 6x9's? A sub is obviously better for bass but 6x9's cant be that bad? CHEERS!
spend it all on the front comps/headunit and front amp.

if you are 100% certain your arent getting a sub then putting 6x9's in will be fine.
personally i would'nt bother as there is no good way to mount them really.

yer see that was what i was thinking. seeing as I know I am not gonna put a sub in but i still want sum base. I dunno about the 6x9's yet, but would these compnents be good?

Also if I get a sub, does it really matter wat head unit I get?
Cheers!
you can get decent bass with good door speakers, get a headunit that has an srs-tru bass setting, makes your normal speakers sound like 6" subs, if they can handle it. I would install a passive x-over on the speaker wires going into the back.
