Was going up the M1 from M25 this morning at 5am. and got to the average speed check. I was doing 42mph by my clock roughly. and people were zooming by me.

What am i missing do they not work in the dark. are they switched on only during times or are these people all just stupid.

there stupid stick to 40mph otherwise you will get caught and remember they calculate your average speed over a certain distance so you run a high risk of speeding and then trying to break it down

OR better still keep switching lanes and the camera's cant detect your actually speed due to changing lanes often which avoids being caught ;)

Gotta be careful still; the two cameras at different intervals are always pointing in different lanes.

true but its been noted that if you change lanes a few times the camera cant detect your overall speed only in one lane going dead straight without any manouvers ;)

I thought this too, but still rather stick to 40 going thru them .

How do those cameras actually work with so many cars going through all the time :?

i do too cos they are active and they do clock people i laugh when some try and be cocky by speeding then slowing down thinking they be fine lol

not sure how they get everyone but if you been down that part no1 changes lanes only t*ats who decide to move about you stick in your lane and keep moving slowely so its pretty easy for the camera to watch everyones speed

Tailgate a lorry on entry and exit - that could work as the cameras are facing you, they don't see your ar$e end iirc :D

Some of them do get the rear of your car tho, so this wouldn't really work.

Ah right, the ones near me only have the facing cameras so might work there.

matter of the story is your not gonna tail gate a lorry that close for 2 reasons one being if the lorry broke you smack into the back of him and second the police will pull you over straight away if they saw you tail gating that bad lol so basically they will get you no matter what ;)

When i was heading back from Luton the other night i noticed that on the southbound stretch some cameras werent even facing the lanes from where they have moved the traffic flow and not yet re adjusted the cameras

I stick to the limit through these. Not many people will know what recognition software they use and how acurate it is, so I dont even think changing lanes to chance a few extra mph is worth it.

that lane changing thing has been sorted now.

but im not convinced people get caught though, i see so many people going through at well above the limit.

is the lorry your tailgating speeding? if so then obviously the idea of the century! you'd still only be doing 60mph at the max! till he slams into the back of somthing doing 40! then u slam into him quicker then liquidised **** can erupt from your ass!

The camera's are standard ANPR camera's! 'Automatic number plate recognition'. It picks up your plate,in a jiffy it logs it on the computer and from there everytime you go throu! bang jiffy next bit of info will be logged to your plate. etc etc! well thats basically it!

Same as an ANPR cam, it doesn't matter the weight of traffic! it'll pic up any plate in site and just log them down! ANPR obviously just picks up the ones of interest although it does scan all plates.

There is a theory that a ingrediant in suncream! which i cannot remember, confuses ANPR making your plate un readable. Knowning if your car is actually being pinged up on ANPR is the problem! chances are its not! or else the police would be all over you because they target motorists, and if mr ANPR tells them your cars dodge they'll jump at it because it is less work for them, then they dont have to use that thing called a brain. they just take comands and get a crappy tick in the box!

also! having your boot smoothed isn't such a bad thing ;) because then your plate can be relocated! opps its tilted down a tad bit.....camera can' quite read it properly. or in the back window which then happens to lay flat on the parcel shelf then cannot be seen!

And as far as i know, all the ANPR i've seen is front facing! and it does pick up pretty much every plate with out mis reads althou it does some times come up with mis reads depending on how well they are set up!

illegal fonts somtimes muck it up ;) and! the good old 11 <<with a bolt in the middle to look like a H and the such likes, they sometimes confuse it :)

Enjoi.

Oh moral of this boring ****, just stick to 40mph on that nice small stretch on the M1 and dont be impatiant :)
