it depends what you are trying to achieve with the cap in terms of does it work or not

You run power cable from battery to power cap, then power cap to amp. The power cap has an earth connection so earth it somewhere and thats it.

No I mean they won't help your electrical system mate lol... Will just put more unnecessary strain on it ;)
