View Full Version : Retro fit cruise control?
Hi everyone, i know there has been multiple threads before but havn't found out anything conclusive. I have a 2004 facelift corsa 1.0 easytronic (:woops:*ashamed*lol) and i understand pre facelift corsa's apart from 1.4 engines+ can't have cruise retro fitted. I understand that ALL facelift models had the option of cruise control and may have the neccessary wiring etc to make a simple mod to retro fit.
So basically what i want to know is if anybody has had any success fitting cruise to a facelift corsa especially to an easytronic and if not sure is there anything to look out for such as i have heard that if i only have 3 wires entering my indicator stalk its definitely not straight forward?
Hello m8
I have had it fitted and its very very easy
By the cruise control stalk and fit it yourself
Get cruise control turned on in the BCM and ECU (not just ecu!!!!) by a tech2 programmer
And thats it

as far as i know, only certain models can have cruise control fitted to it, as it needs some kind of switch behind the brake or clutch or something like that. let me know otherwise, cause ive been wanting this for ages!!!
yes sorry i thought that was clear ya need to have the brake and clutch switch as well, diesels have this switch
cheers for the reply mate, i've heard it was straight forward on the 1.7 diesel. Whether its the same story on my 1.0l seems to be a bit more controversial and i reckon the fact mine is easytronic maybe another matter for debate aswell! lol

but i take it that cant be bought and fitted aftermarket?

Dont think so, as its in the pedal box.

hmmm time to source me a pedal box from a dirty oil burner then! :P
surely with my car being easytronic (ie. no clutch) a clutch switch wouldnt be an issue it would be purely down to having the relevant wiring for the stalk then getting the ecu and bcm tech2'd? :dontknow:

i think its a switch on the brake pedal, im not sure, as when u press on the brake it disengages the CC so i think its to do with that, im sure someone in the know will be able to clear this up, but i dont think it can be done on yours

Cheers for the info mate, it would be nice if someone who perhaps knows for sure could put me out of my misery as i've been clutching at the hope of cruise control for a while now and havn't been able to find out for sure whether this is possible or not, or even what to look for on the car for me to check!:?

because it is another toy!!! motorway driving is so dull.. my dads veccy has it and i love it lol
i got a corsa 55reg sxi 1.2, so ur sayin if i braught a cruise control stick then took it to vx dealer ner my and asked him if they could turn it on that id have cruise control?
i dont think it is that easy for the 1.2 mate, i think there is an issue about the clutch switch and the wiring with yours and possibly with mine, but i'm still hoping it might be different for mine with it being easytronic.
ive being told fitting cruise control is very easy and i can have it on my 1.2

Yeah I added it to mine, 1.7 CDTi are easy, as said above. After fitting stalk and programming it wouldn't work though. :( Had the car in the dealers having the gearknob glued back on  and they had a look at the cruise control at the same time (factory fitted option of course ) and they diagnosed a faulty brake pedal switch (even though my brake lights were working ok :dontknow:) - they replaced it and the CC works great now. :) Very useful for driving on motorways and on roads where lots of speed cameras - no more speedo watching. :D

Totally agree m8.
What is needed for a 2004 1.4 twin port?
Thanks
PS - how about a 'how to'?

id like a how to and an approximate cost please :)
a "how to" would be very useful especially if theres anybody who knows the things to look for and what the differences are between models. I hear some cars have three wires going to the indicator stalk and some four?- if anybody knows more about this and what exactly to look for would be very helpful

It's an imprecise science. I bought and fitted the cruise switch on mine ('05 1.7 CDTi), had it programmed and it worked straight away. All the relevant switches (brake/clutch) were already there on my car.
I have heard of two 1.7 CDTi's on '04 fitting the switch and it not working, and by that logic I'd say something changed on '05 that made it possible.
The petrols definitely don't have a clutch switch as standard, the wiring for it might not even be there to plug one into.
I'd say caveat emptor (buyer beware), there's a good chance you'll never get it working.
yea i agree, with mine being an easytronic tho i thought the clutch switch wouldn't be an issue, so i guess its mainly down to having the wiring for the stalk :dontknow: i just dont know how to tell whether the wiring to stalk will take a c/control stalk? so if anybody who has c/control can tell me what to look for wires wise to the stalk would be a huge help

Mine's an 04 and works now (eventually) - only didn't work originally because the brake pedal switch was buggered.

yea, maybe cos other people kept jackin my thread and i never actually found out anything i wanted to know. so let me emphasize i have an EASYTRONIC i dont need a CLUTCH SWITCH and what does the WIRING TO THE STALK look like if you have fitted c/control. this is all i want to know, so is there anybody that can help me out would be very very greatful

Guys I have a 1.3 CDTI which I know is a Drive By Wire throttle. Am I right in think Cruis can be fitted to this ? It's a 54 plate.
Thanks
Ok, so my 05 plate 1.4 SXI doesn't have it. And it's a pain in the arse on motorways.
Whats the verdict on getting it fitted? Hmmm.
