I know its nothing to do with meets, but it is to do wid australia!!! i want to remove my standerd HU, but i cant find the keys to remove them any where, iv been to Super Cheap Auto, Auto Pro, Autobarn, Renco (i think its called), and iv been to holden!!! i was told to go from one store to the next and iv got nothing out of it. Also i havnt been able to find a facia adaptor to go round my non standerd HU!! any ideas please let me kno!!!:?

im from sydney so i know your prob.
The HU can be bought from ebay UK, or through Chris R on www.opelaus.com

To remove the head unit, there are 4 holes,
cut coat hangers and place them in the holes, pull to the side and out. and the head unit should come out.

I will try that, but i dont think any of the coat hangers i have are thik enuf, need like 2mm thikan most aint that thik r they? i will give it a go ne ways an will let u kno!!

The old coat hanger worked, took a bit of fiddlein an hurt me hand a lil cus i aint got ne cutters so had to bend it to snap it lol but i done it now, jus need the facia adaptor now, i hear a certain chris person does them!

I wil PM him an find out about them!!!:thumbs:

I'm pretty sure it will be the same thing but maybe not, as I did mine on an Astra TS... but I didn't actually need a special key. I used the right size allen key to remove the grub screws... then simply put a flathead screwdriver behind the head at the top bottom left and right excetera, seems risky but be careful and it won't scratch or damage at all, eventually you can pull it with your fingers, then its just a matter or cutting all the wires off the plug etc. wiring the new HU up.
