Well, they were used in BM’s and merc’s, because they are best at getting the best out of standard speakers. They do this be playing sounds more high pitched, so on a good set up, this will sound “harsher”. Just like making ipod quality songs sound a bit better. Soo alpine stuff is best suited for alpine (or standard gear) unless you are confident and/or have the equipment to change this so it doesn’t play as harsh.

I didn’t know if you were going to upgrade to some nice comps upfront… Why Alpine? Clarion do some good units…

Running from the headunit, they’ll be about 30wrms (max ish)
Running from a separate amplifier in boot, you can have MUCH more power going to them, 100wrms for example

ok :err:

i'll probably run it from the amp then, will that just mean i'll need more wire?

Martin
13-02-2007, 10:40
it means you'll need wire into the boot, then split into two lots wire, one wire to each amp.

£200 HU n £100 comps??
CDA 9812 (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-cda9812rb-p-2193.html) £199.99

SPR 17S (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-spr17s-p-5662.html) £109.99

or SPR 17LS (http://www.iceclearout.com/Car-Speakers/65-17-cm/SPR-17LS/) £89.99

Although without an amp, the comps may be a bit overkill

Yer they're cool from a HU, wont need adaptors either to fit them. although maybe a sheet of dynamat around the door metal when you screw them in. sorted
