I feel really stupid bout this but I got new 501 sidelight bulbs for my facelift lights and I can't see how the hell i'm sposed to change them! Unscrewed the cover on the back of the main/sidelight compartment and space is so tight I can't even get it out from in front of the airbox, so theres no hope for me when I actually get around to replacing the bulb... Only thing I can think of is to remove the light assembly, but this means dropping the bumper (right??). It's no use taking the airbox out coz it's the same on the other side with the fuse panel. Any ideas??

Cheers.

Bumper drop and you'll have it all changed in under 20 mins ;)

You can reach in if you have the hands of a five year old and don't mind getting cut to ribbons on the metalwork, but bumper off is by far the easiest and quickest

also, anyone ever started the car and the alarm goes off for no apparent reason?? mine went off the other day and turned itself off after bout 10 secs but i went to vaux and it had them stumped too... all i can think is that it's the power sounder.

theres 3 along the top of the grill

theres 2 in the arch each side and 2 underneath the car. there are some rubber plugs under the car aswell but leave them in place, just put something underneath the bottom of the bumper once all the screws out and once youve pulled it out abit it will flop down leaving you to get your lights out.

it seems the only way to do it is to take the bumper off. is the bumper easy enough to get back on?? god these bulbs better be worth it.:banghead:

correct, the same as taking it off but in reverse! lol its a handy thing to be able to do as chances are you will need to do it again in the future. opnce youve doen it you can have it off and on again in 20 mins max.

ive had my bumper off so many times its a peice of cake now.

just be careful with the bolts that are at the top of the arch (holding the front bumper to the arch. if you pull the bolt head out of the plastic insert you will have a nitemare getting it off and on in the future. trust me... it happened to me! lol
