Hello everyone,

I took my original corsa double dinn head unit out to replace it with an alpine single dinn CDA-9854R (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/4588.html) and i can't seem to get it to hold securely in the car. I got the silver facia adapter too but i can't seem to get the cd player to fit in the dash board without it falling down, i've also tried it in the double dinn cage but failed and also the cage supplied with the unit by alpine doesn't do the job either,

i'm sure other people have had the same problems and there must be a way around this

any help would be greatly appreciated

how i did mine was put the facia plate in first, they the cage with the new h/u and poke all the little tabs down, then slide the cd player in... jobs a good 1

My Alpine CDA 9853R can with a "Hex Nut" which screws into the back of the HU. This is a heaxagonal rod that goes into a little hole in the back of the dash assembly which stops the back flopping down. I hope that helped.

yeah that hex nut is meant to make it harder to steal too, i have no idea how though...

thanks for all your help,

I managed to get it in with the alpine cage and i put the hex nut on too, this has prevented it from dropping down however it does slant a little...glad I got this far though
