its a bit of plastic that is screwed down next to the battery to stop it from moving when driving but its a pain in the ass to put it back where it came from

Surprisingly your battery won't slide about as the cables attached are that stiff and hold it in place.
ayp mate. found this a few times mate with these batterys on the corsa. if it just spins and doesnt tighten up then wot i've dun in the past is used a 3/8 air gun and razzed it up wiv tht. u dont want to over tighten it just nip it up. the power of the gun gets straight to the point and tightens it up. whereas using a rachet by hand doesnt always work.either a 3/8 air gun or half inch air gun but DO NOT have on full power or you will damage it all together then.

i've just left mine loose, i was tightening it for about 45mins wiv a bloody spanner only to then realise the new battery i'd bought it too small to fit between the brackets and it still moves about! god i'm so blonde!
on a good note tho u cant even tell its loose, no bangs or rattles!
Mines it totally loose as i had to lever the clamp and battery right out with a power bar! My battery does rattle about a fair bit and keeps pulling my power cable and fuse apart... very safe :nono:
