View Full Version : £550 on i.c.e HELP
ok last think i need is a sound system in my car.
want
-1 sub and amp
-front componts
-and acessories to link both amps togeather
thx
o ya got £550 to splash and want it bass as hell, as i listen to drum and bass 24/7:dance:
jl 12 inch in a correctly sized sealed box, amp doesnt matter as long as it outrates the sub by a little bit, kenwood and alpine make some reasonable amps that are cheap and look ok. im not a fan of a single set of components in the front doors, id go for 3 ways with a 4" speaker at heater vent level or two sets of components which is what ive done. say you spend £350 on your sub box amp and wiring, £200 for the front comps would get you some cheap diamonds or some rainbows. if you can manage an extra £30 you can get 3 ways from caraudiosecurity (rainbows) or caraudiodirect (infinitys). id definately rate having a smaller mid speaker at vent level to raise the soundstage.

id agree with this.
get an extra speaker there as the trouble with comps is that the tweeter can take over and make it sound a bit tinny

my subs are for sale 2x12"
needless plug there, but yeah if you can afford the 3-ways then that is always better the 2-way comps, personally 2-way comps are plenty if they are set up correctly they can sounds top class
agreed, and the more you spend generally the better they are, but id argue that reasonable speakers in excellent enclosuers sound better than excellent speakers in **** enclosures (Ie what you start with) and its cheaper mounting your speakers properly than buying expensive speakers and if your building your own enclosures then theres an easy possiblity of mounting more than just a woofer and a tweeter.
