View Full Version : clifford prox problems
recently ive had a clifford 650, and after searching, seems many of you have them fitted two. The problem ive got with mine is that the prox is always falsing, ive taken it back so many times and they just turn it down, now its on its lowest setting the alarm is going off instead, reporting that the proxy set it off! My fitter says its my front windows that are causing the problem because there must be some sort of metalic in them - there not tinted btw!
I have the proxy sensor mounted on the front windscreen behind the interior mirror.
Does anyone have problems with their cliffords falsing and also do you know where your proxy sensors are mounted?
your prox sensor should be under the handbrake/gear stick console thats probably the problem, mines never caused me any trouble.

I never got the proxies as ppl always like to set them off.
why the f**k have they mounted the proxy there?!
should be on a metalic base and central in the car!

They have also upgraded some of the sensors since the 650 was released, so it'll be worth going back to where it was fitted as you may get an upgrade. You should have a lifetime warrenty with the Clifford alarms as well IIRC.
they said that if i take it back again then they are gonna fit ultrasonics but i will loose my prox!
End of day do you want your car protected or not as if you dont take it back its just gonna keep going off random would take it back ask if they could fit a new one but place it under the gear stick cover if they wont do that either get them to fit the ultra sonics or sort it yourself.
As others have said god knows why the put it where they have as it will go off every second been there mine on the corsa is under gear stick cover
