seen alpine type r components

and also some co-axial ( ithink ) speakers

they are 74.99 and are just 13cm speakers

components are the full set

why are components deared

are they a better buy, louder, SQ, clarity??

help please :)

get the comps mate, assuming the VTR has space to fit them in easily they sound miles better than coaxials that are similarly priced

componments come with tweeter and a crossover which splits between different pitches or summit like that.

someone else help me out

thats right lower notes to the bigger speaker, higher notes to the tweeter

i dont think i would fit the tweeter tho, so are co-axials best for me, just a simple swap over, atm i have thse 13cm fusions 140w in ther, jst found them :lol:

saxo vtr? they dont have space for tweeters so unless you want to make a custom mount get coaxials. 13cm too

any difference to what? the fusions in there at the moment? Without an amp you wont hear a difference and they probably arent much better. If you want to upgrade and hear a difference dont spend less than 80 and make sure theyre amped

why do they need to be amped in order to be heard then?

cos when you buy some speakers that say 100w, it means for best performance they should have 100w going to them. Headunits provide much less than that, even if they say otherwise (eg when headunit says 50w it will actually only be around 20w).
so if you want them to be clearer, less distorted at higher levels, using an amp to provide proper power to them is essential
