When i go into EQ on my head unit it comes up with different modes such as dance and R n B.
i was told in halfords today that to get the most out of my system i should turn the bass right down on my HU, is this best if i have changed the front speakers and have a sub and amp?
my actual question is...you can make your own mode but the labels dont come up with bass, treble etc instead frequencies...i dont know what frequencies are what?
what is:
150HZ
400HZ
1KHZ
2.4KHZ
6KHZ
12KHZ
this would really help
thanks
Bass frequencies are low, treble frequencies are high. frequencies are measured in Hertz (Hz) therefore high frequencies are measured in thousands of Hertz or kHz.
Obviously between the two you have a mid range too. Having 6 frequencies here you can deduct the following:
Bass
150Hz
400Hz
Mid
1kHz
2.4kHz
Treble
6kHz
12kHz

i assume you can adjust the gain on each level by either raising or lowering the levels on the EQ

yeh i can adjust all frequencies
what would my ideal set up be if i have a big sub and amp in back and then 16cm components in the front?
not putting any bass to the comps?
thanks

well your Equaliser is not setting the crossover frequencies that is something different
you need to set the crossovers so the front comps are not gettin the real low frequencies and the sub is
mine were set at subwoofer 80Hz low pass with a 24Bd/octave slope
front components high pass 100Hz with a 12dB/octave slope
bet that has confused things more
