what about if you just use the front wheel image for the back wheel? Would look better then.

Buy a faster car then.

You will lose handling with smaller alloys on, so that makes no sense :?

My understanding is you get better handling with smaller wheels. So diddon wud be correct. Its why I'm only looking at 16"'s, surprising how much difference smaller wheels make to handling.

Smaller tyres means a bigger profile meaning more bounce.

Going from the 16" SRi rims to 17" TSW's I noticed a huge difference in the handling, and it was all for the better.

I put 15" SXi rims on for the winter and they are terrible.

My TSW's are now refurbed, and I can't wait to get them back on!

It's most probably the width that's changing with thoose wheels Ka$h. Wider rim = wider tyre = more traction. Get more of a "on-rails kinda feeling". Smaller rims make the car feel lighter and tighter round bends

It's the lower profile that makes the difference. The roll with the 15's on is terrible, without the roll, I can go a lot harder. The extra width is a bonus too.

Have to agree with Kash there - i find driving with 17s alot better than when i drive a corsa with 15s.

its nothing to do with the size of the wheel (15,16 or 17 inch) it is, like Ka$h said, all about the tyre.

Wider the tyre, the better the handling in to dry, thinner the tyre, better the handling is in the wet.

Bigger the profile, the more roll the tyre creates under harsh cornering, smaller the profile, less roll created, therfor better handling.

In the dry and 17inch x 7.5inch wheel with a small profile would be better than a 15inch x 6inch with a small profile.

My cars dropped 40 on apex wit Sxi wheels and my handling could is good so i dunno what car u been driving on 15 kash but they aint that **** when lowered

That'll be because the tyre/rim is wider. I dont fully understand why smaller rims = better handling and performance but i know its true - just look at F1 setups.

smaller rims means there is less circumference......which means more revolution per minute......which means quicker acceleration..

cirumference of a 15inch tyre -------------- against circumference of a 17inch tyre ------------------------------- for ever 1 revolution the 17 takes the 15 has done 2 (its not exact figures, just made its simple to understand)

Not if you match the profiles correctly. Mine is 2mm difference therefore makes no difference whatsoecer from your example the strat.

Cookie, I was driving mine which so far has had 14" Steels, 15" SXi's 16" SRi's and 17" Reflexes on it. I've just put my reflexes back on today after their refurb and they are much better than the SXi's I had on this morning. Trust me I tested them thoroughly!

Well mine's in the garage all week and not being driven much. Also with a refurb, they're like new again and aren't open to the elemnts or salt! I got loads to do, and this is only step 1 in preparing for the National meet. I only get a weekend to look at the car and there's loads to do.

Smaller rims also means lighter rims, generally anyways. Lighter rims gives better performance, 0-60 especially. Thats why I dont understand why people want to put 18"'s on a 1.0L :(

`16 s all the way just look at some of the jap cars u dont see many of them wit bigger than 17's on do u.. n they can move rapid..

Disagree with most on this but i think the speedlines suit the C really well. Like the track day look about it.
If u have a SRi and put 17's on without a decent drop then i think thats pretty daft. For maximum hadling and grip its down to tyre profile, directional/undirectional tyres, tyre tread pattern, tyre pressure, tyre pressue front against rear, wheel weight and suspension set up.
U cant really compare handling unless u hav ur cars set up identical. With larger wheels, 17s and up the car tends to understeer into corners and the steering seems slightly delayed. I suppose its down to how u like ur car to feel. Trial and error.

Exactly, well said, most stick with 16's or even 15's.
