First off, hi. I've signed up because I'm looking at buy myself a corsa. The chaps on the vauxhall owners network pointed me at this site for corsa specific info.

I'm looking at a '02 Corsa, where the odo readout is a bit broken. It displays like this -

so the bottom of the trip isn't showing, and the top of the mileage isn't showing (image taken from a tutorial on this site and edited). I've read the guide on how to change the bulb, but this doesn't look like a bulb failure as most parts of the number show up.

Has anyone ever seen this problem? If you have, can I fix it or is it a job for the mechanic?

thanks, matt.

If you replace the odometer, you will have to get it programmed by vauxhall. your looking at 1 to 1 1/2 hours labour charge.

This is so they can transfer your imobiliser code etc.... if not ur car wont start when the new odometer is fitted.

Hope this helps :doublethumbs:

certainly does. My astra's washer pump blocked up. They wanted 76 quid that so I did it myself, I hate to think what they'll charge me for the odo in the corsa ...

Yep, for the whole clocks unit to swap over, it will need to be programmed to the car?

But if you just desolder the LCD from one set of clocks and transplant it onto your original ones, should work OK? Might not be the LCD panel itself though - I'm no expert tho.
