OK been looking at M3's and my b.day is coming up, SRi's are too pricey so i am looking into M3's. I've seen them with the indicator on but need some help understanding the wiring, i'd want the indicator to work but at the same time keep my current side indicator.

1.Would i be able to attach them in parrallel to the original indicator?
2. Would the indicator flash faster as it would be extra strain on the system?
3. Would the flashing relay hold out?

Removing the side indicators and smoothing isn't an option unfortunately and i can't see the point in having them if they won't work.

good questions, on my B i just disconnected the Side repeater and wired the mirror ones onto the loom.

I cant see it flashing faster with strain on the system as you find they flash when a bulbs out so thats less strain.

no problems, had my m3s wired up to the side repeaters for 2 years with no problems. i just popped out the side repeater and connected the wire to them. job done!

Did your side repeaters still work though??
Or when you say "popped out side repeaters" do you mean unplugged them and used the connections to power the mirrors?

yeah the side repeaters still worked. use a screw driver to prise out the side repeaters from the wing, disconnect them, then bare about 2cm of the wire for you mirrors, insert it in the live hole for the repeaters then connect back up again.

Can you see enough through them?? How far off the car do they stick out??

I live on a tight little street and have to park on the road so m3's would get battered which is why i don't know what to do.
