Right, This is going to be fun!

I have been speaking to the Editor for 'Total Vauxhall' Magazine about our little get together, and when I told him we should have about 50 'C's in one place, he was well interested. He wants to send out a writer and photographer to the event, but wants us to give him something to write about. Obviously he doesn't want to pay weekend rates for two guys if we are all standing about like wooden planks in a car park. So, this is a big opportunity for us to all get a group feature and a write up in a national magazine :mrgreen:

So, with this in mind, and tbh it's only fair to us all, I am trying to put a timetable of events together so we can get a bit more out of the day. So far, I only have a small few ideas, but on the other hand, we can't have too many as we only have one day to work with.

Now for the details.

I am looking to start the day for 11am with a meet and line up so we can see who we have.

We are looking to arrange all past feature cars in attendance along with March's feature car in the middle. March's feature again will be picked by the club staff from the list of attending members. This way we have a special event and showcase for this month's feature (more special than mine :( )

We are also looking to hold some competitions, and this is where I need some help.

I propose at a start that we have a club 'Staff vs Members' Bowling Comp. Also to help solve the long running argument that Sicky is so sure that silver is better, I reckon a black vs silver event in the quasar laser! Also we all have our cars there, so what about some car fun. I am looking into some prizes for the comps (not telling what) so I feel a barry award for the worst car, an April feature for one car. I have spoken to Gruff and we came up with another couple of daft ones and a gem. He suggested a modding competition made of cardboard. This would involve peeps taking card and ideas and modding 2 or 3 cars in cardboard to be judged and the winning team again to receive a prize. I reckon we should time this to 5, 10 or 15 mins as well.

Right, I'm dry on ideas now, so I want some more input either here or PM of things we can do as I have to speak to him again this week with an itineray of the day so they will come. Even if they don't, we'll still have fun :D

Get your thinking caps on and Si, Noony, David & Chewy, sorry I didn't mention prizes earlier, but I figure we'll find some way of buying them :wink:

Last time I spoke to the Editor, he was all for this and was sending two guys down to cover the event. They are looking for some activities and future feature cars as well as giving the club some publicity.
