If i put in an aftermarket sony headunit-

1. what wires do i need for the steering controls?
2. what will show up on th screen which shows track now. guessing just time and temp.
3 how much is the hu out of a 02 sxi worth?

1) You'll need an autoleads/connect2 adapter I think...good audio shop should be able to guide you. You may well need aerial adapter etc as well.
2) Depends on the adapter. My old one used to show the track name etc, then it got nicked and my new one just shows time date and temp :(
3) Not sure, look on Ebay and see what theyre going for.

Just sold my Vaux HU for £50 on ebay matey ;)
Mine just shows the time, date and temp. Good enough for me though
New HU shows tracks an all that anyways.

Little word of advice mate, dont buy sony.

Go with the likes of Alpine or Pioneer.

Any particular reason you want a sony ?

I'd argue against that coops. Had two cracking Sony HU's. Alpine are awesome, but a lot more expensive for what you get than Sony. Tried a Pioneer the other month when my old Sony got nicked. Absolute sh1te. Took it back and got a Sony GT610U straight in there.

Fair enough mate, each to their own. Sonys older units are much better than todays ****e.

go with alpine ive had sony and the two alpines i had are way better, yet yea they are more expensive

i read tht u have to do somethin special with the loom wen u fit it, but i forgot

check for a "AF" setting on the hu or look in the tutorials and iirc it mentions cutting a wire and the date will re-appear
