Im gonna start making my sub box soon, for 15" Orion Sub. How do i wire the sub to the amp to make it play at 1 ohm. Do i have to wire the sub a certain way before i seal the box and carpet it etc.?

Ive heard about voice coils, do i buy them or make them myself? This is the only thing i dont really understand...

Cheers

EDIT:
Just found this: http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/3857/singledvc2ohmto1ohm7rqjd3.jpg

Would this sub - http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/5051.html

have 2 sets of positive and negative on the sub like shown in the picture?

yeah

when you wire up a speaker. you wire to TWO teminals. one pos and one neg. these "activate" the voice coil.

so, if you have TWO voice coils, you have to have two lots of TWO terminals, so youll have four.

if your voice coils are 2ohm, then you wire it up like that :thumbs:

It doesnt say in that link what impendence (ohm) the voice coils are, so ied find out before you buy it mate.

Also, are you sure your amp is stable at 1ohm? What amp is it ?

i think:

15.2 = 2ohm DVC
15.4 = 4ohm DVC

what if the sub only has 1 pos and 1 neg how will i get the amp to power at 1ohm? :err:

Just looked here and it says that the sub is dual 2ohm (http://www.cardomain.com/item/ORI27311), does that mean i can power it to 1ohm or does that only depend on the amp.

The top pic shows a 1ohm by the amp and 2ohm by the sub, does this mean the sub is powered at the 1ohm power from the amp or 2ohm?

The sub is being powered at 1ohm in the top pic and 4 ohms in the bottom one.

each set of 2 connectors are wired to a voice coil which is a bit of wire rapped in circles at the base of the cone.
