Angels or facelifts -> with HIDs

Heres the dilema:

I have to get HID lights as the vision of the angels is pretty poo.

HID kits can be bought for both (H1 and H7) so that aint a problem.


Im still not convinced about the temperature that the HID bulbs get to in relation to the plasticy feel of the angel headlights!
Furthermore, with the angel headlights (inc the uprated Ultra bulbs from Gary) it is near impossible to see the passenger side kerb, the light just isnt projected in that direction (fully aligned at MOT station!) Even with an HID kit on the Angels would the increase in light project to that side?!Option 1:
Do i trade my Angel eyes for facelifts to be on the safe side and fit HIDs happily knowing that nothing can go wrong.

-OR-

Option 2:
Do i order the H1 HID kit, fit and run the risk of melting my angels to buggery.


Any suggestions welcome (as long as they relate to the topic in question!) :D

woo 100% my way yey, mine have the upgrade bulbs i see all the kerb the lot :err: but i dunno weather they are mot alinged or not hmmmm

have upgraded to HIDs on my angel eyes. vision is much better, i can see the kerb fine, are you sure you dont need to adjust the horizontal beam pattern?

Get facelifts, these new-fangled angel eyes are the work of the devil. And yes, I've owned them.

Yeah maybe will have another look at them on saturday in the garage.

im having this problem aswell, but i only have the rings wired up and the full lights, none of the other nonsense, does this not mean that if you go for the hid kit and have your full lights on the rings are pretty much undefined anyway?

i have the upgraded bulb things i think because the vision with mine is cracking. however i wouldnt stick the HIDs in because if they melt em, then its a lose lose situation.

def go for facelifts mate, they look better in the day (and you can't see the angel eyes at night anyway) and are safer with HIDs... Having a problem atm tying to get angel eyes refunded, even with upgraded bulbs they are not a patch on the vision from the facelifts!

Angels are off, pre-facelifts are back on while temporarily sanding eyebrows on the new facelifts headlights i got. Thanks to Dan!

HID kit will be ordered on pay day.
