I'll ask my mate as he has one in his mini! ;)
Ste
cheers ste and nice car by the way 8)
sounds to me like youv got th ingnition live and permanant live mixed up , you should have an idea which are which from taking the old headunit out , try swapping them. if that doesnt work a faulty earth connection maybe??
hmmm d yellow cable is d power for d unit and red is the memory im so confused :S LOL

Like most the unit needs 2 power sources, 1 permanent and 1 ignition, VX plugs are the same as the ISO apart form having the permanent and igniotion the wrong way around. (So you can't fit VX stereos into other cars) when you swap the wires over have you made sure your ignition is off? If it keeps blowing fuses it's probably earthing out against something else, what have you wired the handbrake cable to?
your memory wire must be the permanant 12v then , so the unit keeps its settings , and the yellow one should be dead untill you turn the ignition, get a volemeter on them to c wots wot, then try cleanin all your connections up mate
yehhh thas is it the memory is the permanant and the yellow is ignition but ive been told by halfords to connect d red to yellow and yellow to red to make sure the settings are saved but everytime i do it the friggin fuse blows :|
if its still within 28 days ask halfords to put a different unit in and see if it does the same thing may be a faulty unit m8 just an idea??
ive had the head unit for ages i had it in my clio and it worked perfect but its jus the corsa :| ive got an austrian wiring loom in the car if thas any good (the alarm guy showed me the sticker when he fitted it in today LOL sad i know LOL)
blowing fuses means the power cant escape the unit mate , check your earth

Must be the earth then dude. Stupid thing to try but cut the earth wire (you can always bullet it back together if this doesnt work) and attach your aerial and see if it works like that. Your aerial should earth the unit.
ok ill try it do you know if id be able to get another iso replacement for the headunit?
u mite do u shud just go in and ask and explain 2 them the situation i cnt see y not if its faulty and u still have the recipts they have to do something so fix the problem
after 28 days halfords policy will be to send it off for repair, if it does expect it to be away for 10 working days, 2 weeks.
sorry to sink your ship but the DV710 is awful for breaking etc its a nasty unit about 50% of units that are sold come straight back, they're shocking to be honest.
i dnt actually know if the send ripspeed stuff off for repair you know u mite just have a replacement unit im pretty sure?!?
