View Full Version : RCA speaker line output converter

Hi im having trouble fitting my speaker line output converter to my standard CD30 HU. I have attached all the wires to the rear speaker wires and the amp and attached the earth but there is no sound coming through my sub. wondering if anyone could help? Thanks.
are you amping a standard head unit?

dunno but you need to be careful with those things! my mate put one on his peugeot and blew three good subs in one week!

that wont be down to the head unit mate , if it was that then the amp would have gone first . did he run the subs in or just put large volumes through them strait away?? sounds like they werent run in to me

Is the amp powering up? If the amp is powering up and not going into protect then you know its an rca problem. Have you checked all the connections onto the speakers are "clean".

lol the subs were all second hand and so didn't need to be run in. and he's an electronic engineer and he's pretty good with wiring. plus when he put his new unit in that didn't need the adaptor it worked absolutely fine with no subs getting ruined. dunno what caused it but it must have been something to do with the RCA adaptor cuz it worked as soon as it was removed!

Could have been earthing out on something, what did you use to connect the wires onto the speaker wires?
